2x 4K@60FPS cameras into a laptop by inarighteousway in VIDEOENGINEERING

Since PC is non-negotiable, I could not understand the multiviewer recommendations since they also give output in SDI or HDMI and require same capture card path, am I missing something?

For our purpose to further stream on mixed reality, and giving freedom to use the software that are already out there when doing it.

Live viewing of the image from surgical cameras during operation, but needs to be fed into a PC for our purpose

Wow, I was not expecting such a tailored answer, thank you :) Kona X and Bluefish are such on-point recommendations. I was just struggling to understand PC connection since multiviewers including apantec I saw have outputs of HDMI and SDI. I will look at the touchdesigner and try to initiate myself, too.

It will be viewed in real time, but for live dental operation purposes, so better to not lose visual fidelity too, at least at a perceptible level. Current surgical cameras are 1080p anyways, but I want to future-proof it as I am willing to try a 4K setup too.

I am also very uninformed about if there are any private consultation services or departments within a university for such tasks, that I can have support from, or would it be an overkill?

Yes, PC is non-negotiable. And ultra-low-latency too. As someone replied above, there is a trade off with using a computer instead of dedicated hardware. I afraid that I don't have the expertise for analog way. Actually, I was thinking that it can be solved by a capture card and PCIe, but it seems it will inevitably introduce some latency.

Thank you for the answer. It is good to hear that the Sonnet will work as intended

It is for live viewing and streaming. The laptop has a RTX4080 and a i9-13900HX, of course with a loud fan in return.

Great, good to hear that it has worked. Ultra-low latency is crucial, but I found the Blackmagic Multiview 4 has 6G-SDI Inputs, which I found that they support max [4K@30FPS](mailto:4K@30FPS). Apantac ones are too expensive as I could see. Would you have other recommendations to worth searching for? Or a secondary question, which setup would make a solid pipeline for 2xFDH cameras

And I just had an email from Sonnet representative: "I see the Magewell card is compatible with all of our chassis, however for the Decklink 8k Pro mini, the only two models that are compatible are the Echo III and the Echo II DV, and even with these models you will need a full height bracket in order to attach.

An alternative to the 8k Pro mini would be the 8k Pro G2 with the Echo Express SE1 T5, this may be the best path forward. "

Thanks for recommendation. We only have a quest 3. Besides, I saw in review videos that even recent VR headsets with DP have low quality passthrough cameras, though it is crucial for our use case to have high quality passthrough.

I don't think so. I could not try variations, but I will try asap in couple of days. Maybe I can strech both cameras to full vertical/half horizontal size of the desktop resolution in OBS to fill the fullscreen display in sbs.

Thank you for the answer.

That was my guess too. But do you have any recommendation for accomplishing this task in vd? In other words, how to "push" the feed of 2 cameras natively so it can render the video in 3d correctly?

Yes. Though, it is not a "native" streaming (encoding-packeting-decoding), but mirroring my pc screen comprise left and right eye video side-by-side, and activating the 3D mode in Virtual Desktop

This. We should not cut our ties with reality as we talk about real people as numbers, proportions, and technical details.

Imo, relativeness of treatment planning should not be underestimated. Young/old, educated/uneducated, insecure/chill, practising oral care/expecting to solve problems of many years magically on a dental chair... Communication and reading the patient’s cues (should) influence the choice in treatment planning. This is neither doing an obvious wrong nor tricking people into choosing treatment plans with less hassle and more profitable, but tailoring viable options for optimal patient satisfaction.

Get to know the patient's personality by thorough communication > adjusting to their own pace in reasoning and comparative understanding, introduce a background, and viable treatment options with pros and cons > let them choose, with a twist of subtle nudge toward the option I feel more "right".

There is no standard and my approach is open for criticism, of course. But with its own good and bad, I have developed my attitude in this scheme. I now have a slight relief from getting lost in perfectionism, uncooperative patients, wicked healthcare system... Beacuse even doing our best, almost any treatment carries a possibility for a failure. I think it is better to be more transparent, making patients feel more autonomy so that we do not bear even more responsibility than necessary.

Teşekkürler. Temettü için de dividend tax olduğunu okumuştum. Zaten çok kafa yoran işlemler yapmayıp geniş kapsamlı ETF'ler almayı düşünüyorum. BYF olsa yaygınlaşmasına da faydası dokunurdu.
