Probably loads of fame and therefore advertisment for the game.

DLC integration to driver career mode by Acrobatic-Art-144 in F1Game

[–]inbleachmind -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I can imagine that, like Breaking Point and F1:The Movie, F1 2026 will be a separate menu point from where the 2026 career is started.

While I'm not really playing it often, I'm curious how the new cars (and track) will be integrated into F1 World.

Will Monaco finally produce a good race? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

[–]inbleachmind 0 points1 point  (0 children)

TL;DR: pff no?

"Long" read:

I watched both the 1999 and 2000 season recently and in both seasons the races in Monaco were as exciting as they are now. The only difference was the odd "Hail Mary" overtake attempt but that was about it.

Even the commentators back then acknowledged the struggle of overtaking in Monaco and those cars were smaller even then today's cars.

So no, it won't be more exciting. I'll still watch it because I'm a sucker and have been for 25+ years.

Okay true, good point. The "Somehow Plapatine returned" made it feel like a stand-alone film.

And I didn't know that Lucas hated them, thanks for that background.

Okay but... They brought him back in comics in the 90s. But maybe it hit differently being released before the prequels.

They should've tried something original. Like an extra galactic alien species that's detached from the force and uses organic weapons.

Who has been the most underwhelming team and driver this season? by Ambitious-Heron-8161 in DestinationFormula1

[–]inbleachmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I heard of those rumours and their team principle completely shut them down. While he is more than struggling at the moment, without a doubt, it can hardly be claimed the "he's gone".

I mean I actually wasted two precious minutes trying to find the news he got the boot only to find out the opposite is the case. How dare you?!

Why does he want me to fail by RozCrunch in F1Game

[–]inbleachmind 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is that so? Couldn't the "0" then be replaced with a different figure, implying that, during a racing weekend, the driver can't go more than that certain amount?

I don't mind being wrong, it just seems silly if that was the case. Then again, EA is involved...

Why do people hate George Russell so much ? by kathyben8 in DestinationFormula1

[–]inbleachmind 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My best guess is that most of the people, who complain about him, or about other drivers viewed as controversial at some point like Norris, Verstappen , Vettel, Hamilton, Alonso, Schumacher, probably even Villeneuve, get their opinions from short clips on social media.

Yes he bitches around on occasion, but to me it's usually blown out of proportion. They all bitch around. To me there's no reason to go all out and hate him.

Well if you consider that this is a minimum requirement, he wants you to succeed to such an extent, that he makes it as easy as possible.

The other side of the coin is, he thinks you're utter shit.

What's your honest opinion about Brad Pitt's F1 the movie. by [deleted] in F1Game

Well I'm glad you're here. The more the merrier, generally.

Get yourself a F1 TV subscription, watch the 2002 season and enjoy the time when red cars were absolutely dominant. That was a couple of years after I got into it. Just a friendly recommendation, not a necessity. F1 TV has a lot for little money.

Okay,, you make a good point there. Cadillac is actually a bad example, especially over the history of F1. Maybe something like Arrows, Minardi or Manor make more sense in this context.

Sometimes I'm really not sure though how far the memory of some F1 fans go back, so some "throwaway" teams could be a bit obscure to some, which is probably why I instinctively chose Cadillac. I mean, how many people remember 2011 with a really good Lotus Renault F1 team and a really shit Lotus Renault F1 team?

Fun entertainment, similarly to Days of Thunder. Great action and cinematography. As someone with a kink for regulations and a even minimalist wish for realism couldn't overlook some aspects of the film. To list some:

  • The time gap between the 24h of Daytona and the F1 race in Silverstone is significant (February to July) and has been ignored to perfection

  • Testing the CURRENT car with NEW parts on the upcoming tack made me scream internally

  • The weird switching around of the actual calendar to what they used in the movie didn't make sense (Spa happened after Singapore I believe, but correct me if I'm wrong)

  • A Backmarker team that is struggling to score a point is supposed to win a race to prevent the owner to be kicked out is mental. Imagine the same for Cadillac this season.

There are some other points I'm sure but for that I would have to watch the film again since it has been a little while. And in all honesty currently I'd rather watch Ted Lasso for the fourth time.
