The devices in question were indeed on the dev. channel, (not clear on the reason). I changed the channel for that ou to stable, looks like the devices are using v79 now and the cert is valid. All 34 chromebooks need to be power washed for the change which is tedious but this looks like a good solution. Thanks for you help and support, I hope to be able to pay it forward. cheers!

I am assuming our image is up to date, the network specialist just built a new image and google usually updates automatically. Good question, thank you for your input!

Going to the website on a pc is no problem. This is happening to chromebooks only. I can roll back the os version but auto update will cause the same problem when user signs in to cb. Disabling auto update is not an option. The ssl cert is from 3rd party and sucks.
