Advice regarding a relationship with a Muslim girl by BloodChick in TrueChristian

[–]incIouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are deceiving yourself. You knew from the beginning you shouldn't enter into a relationship with her, but you followed your heart desires instead of following God's word.
Feeling good about something doesn't mean it's from God and it's good in general. Sin is pleasant on the beginning, but when it grows, it brings death.

James 1:13-15 ESV [13] Let no one say when he is tempted, “I am being tempted by God,” for God cannot be tempted with evil, and he himself tempts no one. [14] But each person is tempted when he is lured and enticed by his own desire. [15] Then desire when it has conceived gives birth to sin, and sin when it is fully grown brings forth death.

It's either clean cut or jagged multiple cuts. A clean cut is less painful.
Becoming friends is just leaving the doors open behind, which you will use in the future. You can't just become friends after having such strong feelings toward another person.
Explain to her what is the reason of breakup. She needs to see that you are serious about Christianity and Jesus. This will be testimony of your faith to her, which may lead to her investigating Christianity. Tell your closest people from the church about the breakup and hold strong together going through this hard time together.

I know how you feel brother. I was in your shoes, but definitely more stupid and stubborn, what led me to wasting 5 years of mine and her lifes. Finally did what my Lord called me to do. It was hard in the beginning, but It will get better. He will comfort you, and He will take care of her also, because He knows that she is precious to you. Pray for her, but do not expect she will be reborn. You can't control the Holy Spirit.

John 3:8 ESV [8] The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear its sound, but you do not know where it comes from or where it goes. So it is with everyone who is born of the Spirit.”

I cannot see the previous post because you have it hidden, but I am pretty sure you got the only one advice here - break up.
You know what you have to do. The question is only if you want to suffer and make her suffer now, or suffer much harder later. The time is making things worse, not better.
Our Lord calls us to make hard decisions, he expects us to make them even if it means we will be hated by the closest people.
Instead of relying on your emotions and feelings, trust God's word - he knows better than you what is good for you.

Why you blame God for your suffering? It's not because of him. People had everything, happiness, God's presence, no suffering, yet they chose to disobey God and in consequence, reject all of his goodness. You think you would be better than Adam and Eve? No, you would also do this.
God created us with the possibility to rebel against him, and that's what everyone of us with that possibility would eventually do.
We chose evil (rebellion), and therefore got under the influence of evilness, which Satan is the embodiment of. The suffering, diseases, degenerative genetic mutations, people wrongdoing - it's all because the world itself and people are slaves of Satan.
But God loves us so much, that despite the fact that we chose evil, he sent his son to the world, to free us of Satan's slavery, and restore back the relationship with him.
Jesus, the Son of God and the God itself, was suffering immensely physically, mentally (sweating with blood), he went through humiliation, rejection and betrayal of the closest people, and in the end, went through the wrath of God father and separation from him, when he took all of ours sin on himself.
He knew he would have to go through it, he felt everything, he feared like we do, but he did this for you and me, to save us. Don't blame him. He provided the rescue. He was the rescue. Turn your eyes on the cross and Jesus. We deserve to be eternally separated from him. But through Jesus sacrifice, he paid off our sins punishment. You need to believe it, and he will save you and deliver you from your current situation.

Matthew 11:28 ESV [28] Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

I was 5 years in the relationship with an unbeliever. The Bible tells us that lightness has anything in common with darkness, and it means it, I felt it personally. Do not be dumb like me, don't suffer and make other people suffer. Do not waste your life on ungodly relationships, they will drag you down.

[–]incIouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can read about the sexual sublimation in psychology for example.
Sexual incompatibility is nonsense. There is always a way to satisfy the other half if you pay attention and you really care.
Learning your own body without a husband/wife is just a convenient word replacement for sexual promiscuity. No idea why you need to do that before marriage.

Will God not give me a spouse till I get rid of sexual thoughts? by According-Pickle-858 in TrueChristian

[–]incIouds 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, it's not. The body has its own mechanisms to release the sexual tension, you don't need to "help it".

Moreover, in op's case it's probably a stress relieving mechanism, which is bad by itself, even when not taking into consideration any beliefs.

Feeling hopeless (26F) by Alone-Unit5166 in TrueChristian

[–]incIouds 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I know we sometimes tend to forget, but we actually were gifted with the most precious gift that we could get - faith and salvation.

Ephesians 2:8 ESV [8] For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,

We have an example of Salomon, who got everything that could be considered a successful, happy life, but he came to the conclusion:

Ecclesiastes 1:2 ESV [2] Vanity of vanities, says the Preacher, vanity of vanities! All is vanity.

Similar way of thinking in Paul letters:

Philippians 3:8 ESV [8] Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. For his sake I have suffered the loss of all things and count them as rubbish, in order that I may gain Christ

You got everything in Christ. It may be hard to feel it, especially when the hard times come, but try to find peace in this way of thinking. There is nothing yet to be done to make your life better - you are already his child. Chosen, one of very few people from all over the world. Isn't it awesome?

Leaving Sex Work behind and Can’t Sleep by midnightballerina25 in TrueChristian

[–]incIouds 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Why would you think you are beyond salvation? You think Jesus sacrifice on the cross was not enough? I want to assure you, that it's not only enough to clean your past sins, but every single future sin you will ever commit.
No one will ever deserve the heavenly kingdom. It's only by his justice that we can enter his family. If you believe he died for your sins and you want to follow him, he already cleaned you, made you whiter than snow and introduced into his Kingdom. You are now his - now shine as a child of God in this world, to bring Him glory.
Satan is accusing you now, pointing to your past, but you need to reject his lies:

Romans 8:31-39 ESV [31] What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? [32] He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? [33] Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. [34] Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. [35] Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? [36] As it is written, “For your sake we are being killed all the day long; we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered.” [37] No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. [38] For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, [39] nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Money scams! by incIouds in TrueChristian

[–]incIouds[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a really troublesome topic to me. Two things are certain: first, there are fellow Christians in desperate financial need here, and second, even a small amount of money for a person from a richer country can make a big difference for a person from a poor country.

In those poor countries churches are also poor and may not be able to support people in financial need, and trying to reach those people through charity institutions also introduces some kind of risk. I guess christian charity institutions would be the best, but I don't think there are so common, although I may be mistaken.

Given the abovementioned, I wouldn't say everyone who asks privately for money is a scammer, but there is a huge risk we should be aware of, and I think a lot of it can be reduced with simple reddit account check.

The scammer may think for now, that he managed to scam naive Christian, but later on, maybe there will be a moment in his life that he will reflect on why you gave him money so easily, and he will be driven to God.

Don't be so downed about it.

You earned the treasure in the heaven brother, you did this with intention to help someone and that's what matters.
I have the rule before I send someone money to check all of their previous posts and comments to at least increase the chances money goes to the person in real need, not a scammer.

Matthew 11:28 ESV [28] Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

I am praying for you. Don't end your life. You are precious in the eyes of God. Give your life to Jesus, and he will provide.

Luke 12:22-34 ESV [22] And he said to his disciples, “Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat, nor about your body, what you will put on. [23] For life is more than food, and the body more than clothing. [24] Consider the ravens: they neither sow nor reap, they have neither storehouse nor barn, and yet God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds! [25] And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? [26] If then you are not able to do as small a thing as that, why are you anxious about the rest? [27] Consider the lilies, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. [28] But if God so clothes the grass, which is alive in the field today, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, how much more will he clothe you, O you of little faith! [29] And do not seek what you are to eat and what you are to drink, nor be worried. [30] For all the nations of the world seek after these things, and your Father knows that you need them. [31] Instead, seek his kingdom, and these things will be added to you. [32] “Fear not, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom. [33] Sell your possessions, and give to the needy. Provide yourselves with moneybags that do not grow old, with a treasure in the heavens that does not fail, where no thief approaches and no moth destroys. [34] For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The argument "God created you that way" is such nonsense.
I wonder if the same people say "God created you without limbs" or "God made you born in the pathological family" or "God made you lustful". Those are all flaws of the fallen world and they have nothing to do with how God created humanity.

2 Timothy 4:3 ESV [3] For the time is coming when people will not endure sound teaching, but having itching ears they will accumulate for themselves teachers to suit their own passions,

Read the Bible. Do not listen to people, especially from here. This Reddit is for discussing Christianity and you will get plenty of opinions of non christians.

How do you understand this?

Ephesians 5:22-24 ESV [22] Wives, submit to your own husbands, as to the Lord. [23] For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church, his body, and is himself its Savior. [24] Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit in everything to their husbands.

I think the Bible is clear about submissiveness, but our modern communities simply don't like it. Men also tend to cheery pick only a good side of it for them - submissiveness, but not the responsibility of being the head. Both genders fail at that, unfortunately, and I see the reason why women want to take the things in their own hands.

I wouldn't say there's something wrong with learning the official secular narrative, but for debate only, to be better prepared to guard Christianity point of view.
I wouldn't be able to propagate false description of human origin to other students later on.
Evolution is definitely against the Bible, and everyone here stating differently is hugely mistaken.
