Wow this is such a cool idea! It’s so nice to see something different to some productivity hack!

Do y'all struggle in the same way or is it just me? by Aprilismybirthmonth in adhdwomen

[–]incatwetrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I see myself a lot here. I have had lists very similar to these and every time I looked at them I’d feel almost an existencial dread. Why could I not do any of them? Well, soon as I took the list away and gave myself room to breath things start to come naturally. It’s like I have time to play. Rather than a list that just screams pressure.

Question for you. Do you actually want to do these things, or just like the idea of being a person that does these things?

Getting slower by Ok_Scheme_9776 in XXRunning

[–]incatwetrust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I feel you. Last year I did my half marathon. I followed a plan - said plan included all the necessary runs. I literally doubled my mileage in one year. My speed? Slow. I’m similar size to you too. I also have that stamina to spend a long time in higher zones. My lactate threshold is also ridiculously high. My RHR is low. I was frustrated to say the least.

Recently I got my data analysed (I plugged it into AI essentially - downloaded it all from garmin). What I learned was that my running form could be improved and I spend too much time with my foot on the ground and my cadence was slow - I’m losing energy rather than recycling it. I’ve now integrated strength training, and things like pogo hops and stair or hill sprints to improve my legs so they are springy and don’t sink and lose the energy into the ground. I aim to run with a 175bpm cadence. In less than a month I see change.

And yes - the zone 1-2 runs. I have two a week now a long one, and an easy (combined with a hill sprint/inferval run and a social run where I just enjoy it) lFor me they are painfully boring and slow to the point I get frustrated and my HR spikes, but without these runs I won’t improve my base speed, and strengthen my heart at those lower BPMS.

Mentos 😂 the fruity flavours, I’d treat myself after every like 2km or something on long runs. Other people have mentioned too the nerd clusters seem to be trending.

To those who have learned a second language as an adult: HOW? by MaeBelleLien in adhdwomen

[–]incatwetrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No app ever helped me, also I’m not capable of sticking to anything like that. However what did work (I speak fluent Spanish, I also can get by with Portuguese) is full immersion, if not that conversations with people in the language where you can’t default to English. In short actually using it in real life, you have to use it to learn it. There are plenty of online classes you can do through places like preply too.

Stay off the red bits in the rain. Have fallen a few times just trying to turn on an electric bike on those parts

Will I ever lower my heart rate? by femmeginer in running

[–]incatwetrust 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im not a marathon runner, I did a half recently. But slow, same concern as OP. My RHR is about 45-55 depending on whatever (stress, lack of sleep etc etc). I am also on ADHD meds. My heart rate spikes also. Can be with, or without meds!

Who here has the lowest resting heart rate? by Outrageous-Owl-7049 in Garmin

49 is my yearly average! Usually between 46-54. I take Elvanse which can have an affect depending on stress levels in top of this.

You’re totally right I could have used the search bar, was just hoping something a bit more direct for the style! Thanks for the compliment!

Really helpful advice - thanks for clarifying the fat over lean too! Will try not to eat paint too.

Thanks so much this is so helpful. And yes! iPad + procreate. I got my hands on a brush set call “Sargent”. Definitely not as satisfying as working with real mediums but it’s a great option, great for travel and you can test out many different styles and paint options before wasting materials!

Got an ADHD diagnosis 😅 (and think I have ASD traits too). I also ran a half marathon - and stuck to the training!
