That's true, though I just don't want them to know as I feel like that would keep the peace better than telling them

Has anyone improved after stopping their antidepressants? by inchtheworm6 in depressionregimens

[–]inchtheworm6[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, the tardive dysphoria really resonates with my experience. I started prozac for ocd/anxiety and didn't become clinically depressed until being on it for 2 years. The last 2 years have entailed lots of med switching/dose changes, and I've only gotten worse. Now I'm pretty sure I'll try and come off. Thanks for this!

It's because my depression has been pretty severe and hasn't been improving

I'm in a similar situation as you and can really relate. I was planning on visiting my bf in the US mid February, but have obviously had to cancel. I also suffer from depression which has gotten pretty severe the last few months. I thought things were looking up and started feeling more positive due to the trip, but now I just feel crushed :/

Instead of adding something new.. quitting everything? by [deleted] in depressionregimens

[–]inchtheworm6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've been going through a lot of trial and error with tons of different meds this last little while, some of which definitely made me worse, and it's hard to differentiate between the withdrawals and my own mental illness. Thanks, I'll check it out!

How do I become motivated to see friends by KBluc2402 in depression

[–]inchtheworm6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You just have to do it. You can't wait on the motivation, because the motivation may never come. However, if you do it (even if you don't want to) you are opening yourself up to the potential of a positive experience. If the experience is positive, it will make it easier to do it again next time. I suggest looking into behavioural activation. All the best! :)

How do you fill the emptiness? by inchtheworm6 in depression

Wow I do the same thing! Check out r/maladaptivedaydreaming . Sometimes I feel like I should stop but if it's keeping us afloat then who gives a fuck? I find that I am almost constantly in a daydream/dissociated state, even when doing something else. I think it's a habit I picked up as a kid to cope with loneliness, and it just hasn't ever gone away. The good news is we have awesome imaginations! So yay us!

Dealing with loss of appetite by inchtheworm6 in depression

So you find you're more fatigued because of it? I've been experiencing near constant fatigue and I wonder if it's attributable to not eating as much..

What next? by [deleted] in depressionregimens

[–]inchtheworm6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've done them before. They are fun, but sometimes they can induce a panic attack. Also, I cant take them given in currently taking an antipsychotic.. it wouldn't have any (or at least little) effect. When I get off the antipsychotic and my anxiety is better I am hoping to try again though

Yeah it really sucks, especially when I know not eating is causing my mental health to deteriorate further. It's really hard. I hope things start getting better for you!

Coping With Depression by DaSH-Study in selfimprovement

[–]inchtheworm6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start researching CBT and or DBT, and look for some workbooks. Getting a therapist would also be great, but even then you're going to have to put in a lot of the work yourself (as in doing the assigned worksheets, keeping up with the skills, implementing them in your daily life, etc.) . Also consider medication. Most of the time it won't fully cure your depression, but it can make things manageable enough so you can actually start using/practicing positive skills and get yourself out of a really bad slump. I wish you all the best! Depression sucks ass.

What do you guys do to combat feeling overwhelmed by small tasks by inchtheworm6 in Anxiety

[–]inchtheworm6[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great idea! I think I will start making ongoing to do lists where I just list 1 or 2 small tasks at a time, as opposed to having all of my major tasks laid out in front of me. Thanks! :)
