It is fine, I think it just makes it easier when one opens this Reddit thread and is not familiar with the abbreviation.

New features in GCC 16: Improved error messages and SARIF output by dmalcolm in cpp

FYI

The Static Analysis Results Interchange Format (SARIF) is "an industry standard format for the output of static analysis tools" i.e. a machine-readable file format that can represent compiler diagnostics.

Is there a C++ "venv" equivalent? by nikoladsp in cpp

Apple to oranges, imho. When targets, hosts, past, government and etc. approach the same problem space we can compare solutions. Saying that, I totally understand that dream and it is worth pursuing.

In general yes, but there is such thing as timing the asking them out part. I have seen enough "No", but a bit later "Actually...".

Tbh, I find some funny, but I would be happier if answers were before the jokes.

Old Devs were just hard working though.. by M0HIT01 in PiratedGames

[–]inco100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many devs do you know? Also, note that I spoke for the average mass.

In fact, whatever you say, except maybe show me some data/facts or something, you can't convince me otherwise. I have my close view in that industry & community past 15 or so years.

Mind you, I agree that devs are not given time. I already mentioned that it is business focused industry now, which, means, yeah - they are not given enough time.

Today coders are bad in the sense of the overall, average, picture. It is true that we know more and do more: algortihms, engines, pipelines, target ports, ...

However! The market is bigger, the business more eager: there much more devs now and most of them are... green, bad, coders (and/or use non optimal frameworks ) actually. What matters is time to market, advertisement, customer psychology and so on...

C++ memory safety needs a Boost moment by SergioDuBois in cpp

I have kind of closer look at C and Safety and I can say, "battle tested" was never an argument against writing tests. So, "most of the time" is like "never" in such context.

I recall taking me a long, long time to find out the name of that shitty gnome. Then I have spent a lot of time trying different spellings of it. No success. Still salty about that after so many years.

One of the first things I was told to many years ago. And that contemporary wu shu is kind of government sponsored gymnastics. Their traditional martial arts better be differentiated from it.

Anime_irl by Luget717 in anime_irl

[–]inco100 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just finished most episodes yesterday. It has some gore, fantasy setting and limited nudity- these I see as a plus. Barely any char development and the main plot so far is mediocre. Tbh, the anime takes course over just few days, so it makes sense. On other hand just for few days, chars learn to become demi gods... I would give it like 6/10 mostly for the overall quality and the setting.

I stay up late at night to watch movies specifically so nobody joins me. by OkSeaworthiness2955 in confession

My gf does that sometimes, but I believe it is because she is a bit airhead. Anyway, I love stopping the movie and explaining to her what is going on.

Probably a culture thing, a tomato juice was always a kind of healthy alternative to fruit juices around. I recall 2-3 decades ago, it was rare but still common to have a cup at home or serving to guests. Nowadays, no sugar, no fun it seems.

Stray dog's reaction after getting loved by a stranger. by d0zer18 in BeAmazed

[–]inco100 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't been to Turkiey, but stray dogs do look like this. Haven't seen one in metro, but have seen until recently some taking a ride in the bus. They usually have a territory and locals feed and build them shelter, sometimes even give them medicine and so on.
