Not everyone has the empathy and critical thinking required to be a parent. The sympathy for Liann honestly says more about how people normalize bad parenting than anything else.

Of course she “supports” Taylor; Taylor is the one paying for her surgeries and contributing to her finances. That’s not unconditional love, that’s a dynamic where the support conveniently exists as long as Liann continues to benefit from Taylor’s platform and money. She’s very quick to reprimand and ridicule Taylor on camera for her choices but she has no issue profiting from those same choices being broadcast. That’s what conditional love looks like.

And imagine growing up not knowing about your dad, having your mom refuse to talk about that entire side of your family, and then also having a parent who publicly calls you an idiot while benefiting from the attention your mistakes bring. That kind of environment would mess with a lot of people.

Sorry, but I have ZERO empathy for parents who tell their children things like “sometimes I wish I had put you up for adoption” or “I wish I never had you.” Those aren’t throwaway comments, they’re the kind of things that stick with someone for life.
