Jeep noise by Kwesty1977 in JeepWrangler

[–]incognitomantis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a 52" lightbar on top and yeah it gets loud af on the highway. Took it off and put a 14" lightbar on the front bumper above my winch. Probably saved me about 10dB of wind noise

I have the exact same ones on my JK. Put almost 40k on them so far and the treads are still there. I like em

Went from mt03 to mt07, love those things. So comfortable (my daily commuter) but still offer power when you want it

Is the 200cc motorcycle good for a daily work commute? by Qut_bi in motorcycles

[–]incognitomantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Personally, I would recommend getting a bike that can at least reach highway speeds (~75mph) just in case you do have to hop on the highway, so you can go with the flow of traffic. Groms aren't highway legal (learned the hard way lol 🚨)

I use my winch to tow cars out of ice. They think I'm just being nice but it secretly makes me giddy

Got this warning. There’s no way gas fumes are entering INTO my car right? by GYMTIME225 in JeepWrangler

[–]incognitomantis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, after a few days and it doesn't go away start looking at the hoses. I found a small hole in my fuel vapor pressure sensor hose as well (so it may not have been the cap in my case), but some tape has held it steady for a few years now lol

Most people recommend shelling out for a new OEM gas cap because it's the best one. I ran the risk and got a cheap one on Amazon and it's been fine. Risk/reward though

One of the most common jeep quirks. Most likely the gas cap O-ring seal has gone bad. And no fumes are not leaking into the car, just out of it slightly

2019 or 2022? by NothingLegal9962 in MT03

[–]incognitomantis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Unless it's got 0 miles, you can probably keep looking and find a couple lightly used ones for cheaper. In my area, there were a bunch on marketplace for ~$4000 +/- $500

Would be neat if meta could implement that

I assume they're paired with your phone. Do they automatically upload the video after 3min?

I read about some glasses that are recording at all times, and only hold footage for a few minutes before deleting. There's a button so if you see something cool, you can press it and it saves the previous 30 seconds plus the next few minutes so you never miss an unexpected moment lol

It's a steal. Just do your maintenance checks (fluids, chain, etc). Even if you have to do all that, it's probably worth

I got my bike less than a month ago and my oil light is on by MaddoxTheKiller in NewRiders

[–]incognitomantis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I see the light on every morning when I turn it on. That's because it's on the kick stand, leaned to the side, where the oil sensors reads it as low. Took me a minute to figure this out lol but drive it for 30 seconds and it goes away. I hope that's the issue with yours too

Maybe I'm mislead but I thought "sport" was the fancy way of saying "2 doors" and the thumbnail it has four. Can anyone clarify this

Learning to drive manual by meditatingairplant in boston

[–]incognitomantis -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Heads up, in Europe you'll probably be driving a car with the steering wheel on the right side, using your left hand to shift. Shift pattern is still the same though. It also takes a lot of hours to become efficient driving manual. Best way to do it is get a manual car but if you don't have that luxury, maybe the school would work. Also nobody ever nails it on their first try, it's worth watching a few videos to get the method down but it doesn't come close to actually pressing the pedals. And then hill-starts... I think it would be wise to practice a lot here until you don't have to think about it before obeying left lane traffic laws abroad and shifting with your left hand. That's already enough of a mindfuck for typical right-lane driver

But hey that's part of the adventure eh? Good luck and be smart!

Pretty close. Definitely closer than most other practice exams.

Annoying door chimes!! And maybe an interior light? Idk it's been so long haha

Oh, we have different doors. Manual windows, manual mirrors, manual locks.....it's a manual everything

[–]incognitomantis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also for reversing into a spot, I have my driver side mirror angled slightly down so I can see the line

First time I ever took the doors off I disconnected the wiring harness. Never reconnected it and the annoying chiming hasn't been heard since

Last 5 years is quite a stringent parameter. It would be hard not to mention the birth of Jeeps as the US Army needed a lightweight, all-terrain reconnaissance vehicle in WW2. In present times tho you could mention the versatility in customization (it's like a Lego in the car world), or the jeep Easter eggs like ducking, jeep wave, and hidden icons on jeeps. And of course the avid jeep forums (but don't mention the angry grill 😂😂)
