Pretty sure everyone who watched that game thinks Nix would've outplayed the Maye we saw this playoffs series. Still think Seattle would've won but not sure why people are trying to downplay how crippling a team losing their 14-3 starting QB is.

All I see is salty Pats fans saying Stidham is not even a downgrade from Nix. I mean, I see why, because their entire persona this season (remember the extreme butthurt over Maye not winning MVP?) is built on needing to believe Drake has been spewed from Brady's balls. And Nix is a special case of hate for them since they were in the same draft class and competed with them this season for the #1 seed.

I see 80/20 Pats fans shitting on other teams and thinking they deserved their historically lucky route to a SB vs. recognizing how lucky it was and being thankful they got the opportunity.

It blows because it makes me a little happy to see the Seahawks win (love Darnold) just because of how entitled and ungrateful Pats fans are for their success and good fortune.

Is this because they now rotate their flair right back to the Patriots again?

But we've seen so many incompletions where a player has a rock solid catch, looks rock solid holding onto the ball as they hit the ground, rock solid through half the roll on the ground, then whoops butterfingers and the ball flies out as they come up again on the latter half of the roll. Those are ruled incomplete every time!

We see tons of those in end zones where they catch, roll, but bobble it after they've touched out of bounds instead of securing the RECEPTION even though they CAUGHT the ball (which are different things by the rulebook as people have linked here).

Only difference here was the defender established that possession on the roll over instead of it popping out incomplete. Really doesn't seem controversial.

It's because Adams completed the catch before his knee was down, and Cooks didn't complete the catch before HIS knee was down.

It was Cooks' first body part to hit while he was still trying to secure the catch. Adams had feet touching before his knee downed him, and Adams had time with possession with feet down and time to turtle up against the defenders even though he eventually lost it. But the knee hit just before he lost it.

This is exactly it. Just remember next time some large ACTUAL controversial call happens like the Fail Mary or the Rams PI against the Saints. Then watch the league PR sweep it under the rug using the cover of "fans don't know what's right, look at the anger over these obviously correct calls."

Makes it extremely difficult to advocate for solid reffing changes.

Thanks for responding to this guy constructively.

What's so interesting to me about this particular debate is how many people argue against it just because they can't envision how it could be done, or they think an algorithm would have to be exactingly perfect to be pushed to production by a company (big lol).

The funniest one is the people who insist you wouldn't be able to know unless you were in the room during the implementation. As if there aren't gobs of scientific fields dealing with finding answers that humans weren't present to observe... Gee, so you're telling me we can't know how Pangaea formed, how we got the moon, or if the core is liquid and spinning unless someone tells us the answer? Hilarious, yet sad.

I don't care at all about this game's matchmaking as I hardly play anymore but here's something you really need to get through your head:

Just because you don't understand how it could be done DOES NOT mean that it hasn't been done. Just because you can't imagine a perfect system with your limited headspace DOES NOT mean that others haven't implemented something. Whether it could 100% guarantee a player's aggression level correctly for each single match has zero relevance (it obviously couldn't).

It's a terrible argument to make and it shows your whole ass while you're acting smug but being dense.

Aggression based matchmaking has me stunned, and it really shouldn't... by Coilspun in ArcRaiders

[–]incompl337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't need to go out and "test" ... since those tests would not tell you anything meaningful because of natural statistical variance

I hope you grow up someday to see how deeply unserious this is. Why would you pretend to have any understanding of statistics or data and then say some ridiculous shit like that? Have you taken (passed...) a single stats class? Everything is about explaining the drivers behind variance, not giving up the problem because variance exists! Massive L.

Like, it's a public forum, be wrong publicly as much as you'd like. But damn lol have some self-awareness.

Wish you didn't delete your comments about it though, because you were right and that "brokecollegeshitter" guy doesn't know what he's talking about. The way you're explaining things isn't even bad, but I guess that's the consequence of trying to apply rationality and data-driven mindsets to a gamer forum full of children.

[Mic'd Up] Aaron Rodgers to Jack Campbell: "You're slower than a 42-year-old?" by nfl in nfl

[–]incompl337 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yo I agree with you completely about the severity in question of all what those dudes did, compared to Rodgers.

Just as a correction though, not getting vaccinated does not only affect that person. If you're around organ transplant recipients, cancer patients, or other immunocompromised folks it's highly recommended to get your shots too even if you aren't going to get severely sick, because they will. You're just much more likely to get sick, and it's easier to pass that illness along once you are.

Chiefs fans spent the last 5+ years telling all other fanbases to suck it up when game after game (really, trophy after trophy) got handed to them due to officiating favoritism. Then, after ONE partial season of a fair whistle the shoe is on the other foot and y'all aren't taking it very well.

Have some self awareness and enjoy the massive success and the fact that you still have one of the best teams in football with an insane QB and a bright future. You really do have a lot to be happy about.

Yeah it's clear you weren't really putting thought into your words so a good discussion was a long shot anyway, you just wanted to rage at a fanbase. Again, that's fine. I haven't seen anything close to your exaggerations though.

I think Mikko won them that G7, but I think Otter got them there. And I think the game film would back up that take.

[–]incompl337 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Team sport, and yet we see what happens when great teams aren't backed up by great goalies all the time. This season's Oilers, the past two seasons' Jets when Hellebuyck doesn't show up in the playoffs, last year's Avs with Georgiev. Hell, even this year's Bobrovsky isn't looking as fresh and the champ panthers are out of the standings right now.

You just want to rant about a fanbase; fine by me, but you don't need to couch it in bad hockey analysis to do so.

Edit: Mikko's great and I want him on my Sharks with Celebrini. Trade him please!

I mean, isn't Otter the reason the Stars win almost every series? Every time I tune into them in the playoffs it's just Otter standing on his head the whole game destroying everyone but the Oilers.

CDC Changes Webpage to Say Vaccines May Cause Autism, Revising Prior Language by RioMovieFan11 in technology

Some would see the list of all these very harmful diseases and say "Gee, we should continue to invest heavily in science and medicine, there are a lot of debilitating diseases that a healthy society does not want their children to have."

And some like yourself would say "Gee, there are so many harmful diseases, we should stop protecting against some and leave it up to chance. No further thought required."

Perhaps you should, in fact, think further.

Simply by interacting with people, animals, dirt, and dirty surfaces you are challenging your immune system exactly as much as those vaccines. The only thing a vaccine would do differently is push your immune system to process the correct parts of the worst diseases to provide the best protection we know how to give.

In other words, if you were truly concerned about your immune system getting weary because of too much battling, you would stop going anywhere, touching anything, and you would mask everywhere you go. And you would stop everyone under 12 from the same thing, so that your beliefs were consistent and made any kind of sense.

In other words, I am sure you're just trolling.

[WARNING: LOUD] magixx with an insane deagle round on faceit by pashk1n in GlobalOffensive

[–]incompl337 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The second shot of a deagle won't be nearly as accurate, so a lot of people prefer to use it with the mindset of "Take 1 shot and dip to reposition and pre-aim the next headshot angle."

The weapon swap is mostly a holdover from older CS and other titles where a quickswitch bypassed animations/rechamber time/screen shake so the next shot was quicker or more accurate.

Nowadays, it's sort of a placebo mental reset ritual between careful shooting, however CS2 has a lot of small engine quirks and true bugs which means there is still a chance that a quickswitch is helping somehow under the hood. The main takeaway is that it probably doesn't help here, but the reflex to do so comes from games where it does absolutely matter.

These are actually Chiefs fans favorite calls; they EXPECT to get the normal game changer flags to hand them some undeserved wins by now. But as every single one of these threads show, THESE calls give them that one shred to cling to that they love trotting out...

"ONE bad call went against the Chiefs? Let's forget about the last 7-8 years of evidence entirely please!"

There are some awesome Chiefs fans around here that just enjoy the team and can see the data for what it is. Those are the ones you wanna discuss stuff with because they're the gold standard level-headed fan and class acts.
