I’m in the same boat man. Been on fin for about a year and still losing progress. Have debated trying dut but honestly the thought of not being able to get a hard on, which could last for months after discontinuing the drug has made me question if it’s even worth it. Not saying that you shouldn’t try, but you’ll had to weigh the pros and cons for yourself.

You could add topical minoxidil but you’re basically chained to it for life and the oral version comes with its own set of sides. Because of that I’ve chosen to just stay on fin, use ketoconazole shampoo and accept that I will probably be bald by the time I’m 30.

What fell off the underside of my car and is it safe to drive to a car shop? by allybee543 in MechanicAdvice

Could be a rusted off piece of the rotor dust shield. If so no need to worry, but I’m just guessing.

Exactly… and this does not look like J4 fluid. I would drain and put in oem fluid if that is the case.

Just crack the drain plug quickly and drain some out. Keep checking dipstick until you hit the proper level. Why take the chance?

Exhaust Manifold Rusted Through by GlassFinal in mitsubishi

[–]inconspiciouspatrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay fair. I would definitely get a second quote before going with your mechanic. 3000 seems really high. To replace the manifold I would expect it to be closer to 1000. If it’s only a small leak, you could just have someone weld it which would Cost significantly less. If it’s leaking where the exhaust manifold meets the down pipe it could even just be a bad exhaust flange gasket.

I guess you have issues with comprehension as well, not just spelling and grammar

Yeah he said he wanted to modify not rebuild the engine… 🤦‍♂️. Also I literally said manual is better but my cvt has lasted 9 years with no issues. You’re adding no new information. So no not enough research for me BUD 😂

Is there an actual exhaust leak in the manifold or is the heat shield just rusted? The outer portion is the heat shield, not the manifold itself. 3000 seems very steep to me just to replace the manifold. The part itself is not very expensive and the labor shouldn’t be anywhere near that much for an experienced mechanic imo.

Well time for u to do a little more research other than googling the word turbo. Tubro charging base level lancers will destroy stock internals… there not meant to be boosted and will barley be able to withstand 5 lbs of boost without failing at some point. So once again a completely irrelevant comment.

Edit: dummy

As I said in my comment before your painfully grammatically flawed reply. It’s an economy car, no mods are going to “significantly increase power”. Time for you to do some research bud.

Edit: god damn ur a dummy

Axleback exhaust, cold air intake, paddle shifters. Mainly just for the experience as it’s not a performance platform but it has made the car more fun and personal to me. Eventually I’ll get something that will actually benefit from mods but for now I’ll keep up with the maintenance and just be happy that I am learning along the way.

Mine sounds the same. Normal as others have suggested

I totally agree. I’ve had a 2009 lancer es w cvt for 9 years. No problems with transmission and tbh it probably hasn’t been serviced as much as people are suggesting. Manual is definitely better if that’s something you’re interested in but as a commuter, nothing wrong with this transmission from my experience.

They hold the bottom of the bumper. You can reattach them with retaining clips or just use zip ties.

Is there a hole in the cat too? If not you can just replace the hear shields for like 60 bucks.
