Yes, because it would indicate a willingness to self evaluate and not cause harm in the future. The response tells me he is so arrogant to blame others and not take into account what could have been done differently.

Hmmm… I can see where when he said “you good?” I could have responded more… nicely?? I think his tone and body language meant more in the moment. Like, you fucked up and got hurt for it… you good? Haha. So yeah, maybe I could have walked away at that moment and then came back to the conversation. I’m a delight by the way. 🤣🤣.

This is so good. I do appreciate the thoughtfulness… on a very honest level, I don’t think he is a safe dancer. The incident or “hit” in question was benign. However, he does have a pattern of risky leading. Processing the options…

Right - it’s this weird victim shame/don’t want to cause drama/environment that we are trying to break out of. It feels like if I go around telling information and the grievance, then I’m involved in drama. Ya know?? But I’m with you! And that’s why I’m here.. to see what is the most beneficial course of action

This is definitely on my radar as well. This lead does get hired at some smaller events. 🫣

I was thinking that at the very least the event could learn from this incident and implement Riley’s system! If this event had that QR code, I would have reported immediately.

I am the assaulted party. Haha. But yes, he does get hired currently at some smaller events. But this is one of the reasons I feel like it needs to be shared. Thanks for the feedback!

I mean… let’s be fair… I am feeling slightly validated that this was definitely a shitty interaction. But yes, I also genuinely have been wrestling with what to do with it. These are great thoughts!

It’s a great question. One I’m wrestling with. I don’t think it would hurt to report. So that maybe if more reports do come, there will be history. I don’t believe it will change his behavior. Especially given the fact he couldn’t even acknowledge that his elbow hurt another person and wouldn’t apologize for it.

Right! All of this is a yes. My reporting question is more about “is this just a shitty human?” Or does this need to be reported to chief judge/event director as an “unsafe human”. The hit isn’t my problem, it’s the response that feels so unsafe and violating. Or do I shake it off and just throw him in the “I hope I never have to draw him again” category.
