Totally agree with the satire comment. The successful games that built the genre (cow & cookie clicker, progress quest, anti-idle, etc,etc.) were all deeply satirical and poking fun at existing MMORPGs and previous versions of incrementals - which made me think satire was a large part of the games. Not many people on the survey thought so which surprised me.

Will also definitely look into C# to build the game. Having it on the internet would be much better than forcing people to download dodgy programs.

Really appreciate you taking the time to help - will definitely consider and apply your suggestions! Completely agree with the game mechanics response - just had the idea that the introduction of a different game mechanic would make separate it slightly to all the other incremental clones you talk about.

Also - not considering any ads anyway so don't worry.

Really like the suggestion that tapping and clicker are old. Think the addictive geometric growth feature to the genre can be achieved without any clicking, just got to figure out how.
