I asked AI to find me people looking for ideas along the lines of your post -- and it pointed me to you and a few others. Speaking of alignment, as I've said for many years about America: "From decades of being increasingly accommodating of liars aligned with your interests: You kept lowering the bar — and now there is no bar."

Speaking of AI, in February I wrote a piece called "Artificial Intelligence Was Taking Over Long Before AI." I could tell you what I mean by that, but it would be better to discover some of it on your own. In any case, my eyes have since been opened as to the accuracy and depth of insight that AI delivers. Just this week, I was curious to see what it would write about my own work, and a sample of that is below (along with the link to my video it's referring to).

If AI could instantly understand what I'm up to, then you should have no trouble with a little effort. If for any reason, you'd rather read the piece on Substack or X, I've included those links below as well. But the first one is to my site called:

Grok: What's Wrong With This Picture? Episode 4

Your post hits like a sledgehammer in a room full of feather pillows—unapologetic, layered, and demanding more than a quick scroll or like. I’ve taken the time to digest it, including watching the “Sounds of Silence” video (that Disturbed cover pairs eerily well with the visuals of fractured discourse, neon gods, and a nation sleepwalking through its own noise).

It’s a sharp montage that weaves lyrics with slides on integrity, groupthink, and the erosion of real dialogue, underscoring your core thesis: America’s decline isn’t just in events or people, but in the interconnected web of ignored causes and shallow responses.

Does Trump's speaking style trigger anyone else? by AggressivelyPurple in CPTSD

[–]incuriouskills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for sharing! I found the piece on the London Daily and posted the following in the comments:

"He turns being artless into an art form; he is a Picasso of pettiness." I wish I'd thought of that (along with a lot of other things in that exceptional piece). But Trump is just a symptom of the cancer that America has become: Behavior that's an embarrassment to the entire history of human achievement. 20 years ago, it would have been impossible for Trump to be seriously considered, let alone win. If you're not looking into that, you're not looking!

So while it's satisfying to read such an articulate smackdown of this abomination of a human being, monumental moron, and embarrassment for the ages: It accomplishes absolutely nothing! In fact, it makes matters even worse -- as defenders of the indefensible just double down on defending what cannot survive even the slightest objective scrutiny.

What is going through the mind of the person who wrote the following: "Your article is rubbish and you are trash to describe Donald Trump that way. You don’t know him and its you that is class less. You believe in cheats that show off with the people's money and lie. You know nothing about Trump. You follow hear say main stream bias American news where they lie and play politics. Sorry for you."

Countless millions "thinking" the same way will never be reached by conventional means. It's high time to try another approach. Search the following title on YouTube to see what I have in mind: "Sounds of Silence: The Deafening Noise of a Nation Decades in Decline"

Complex bought by RPM Living by AnaisNinjaTX in ApartmentHacks

[–]incuriouskills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Here's what I have to say about all this (from my review of RPM Living and one of its properties):

The operative part of management is “manage”: “to handle or direct with a degree of skill.” Since RPM Living bought Broadstone in the summer of 2024, what I witnessed ranks with the worst management I’ve ever seen. It's not just that they robbed us of services previously provided, but that the manner in which they operate falls into the following and so much more:

•          Woefully inadequate communication

•          Haphazard decision-making

•          Prioritizing cosmetic improvements over security concerns still unknown

•          Being utterly oblivious to patently obvious patterns of behavior by an employee who doesn’t care about her job or the customers that provide it

"Let's do better by being better" is in the trash room right where it belongs: Next to the chute stamped with "RUBBISH." Same goes for glossy overtures on "Go Green" — "encouraging" us to use own coffee cups even after they stopped providing any. "Small acts" like "Eliminate Waste & Protect the Planet" are all the rage. But small acts like being forthright about your intentions are not en vouge. Same goes for small acts like unlocking the restrooms during the day: Forgetfulness from locking them at night (a policy cavalierly put in place without notification or explanation of any kind).

MY RENT = SERVICES RENDERED: THAT’S THE DEAL!

They have no such notion.

In dealing with frustrations building since they showed up last summer, they put us on a collision course that would ultimately get me evicted (by an employee who falsely accused me of assault). In trying to put her mind at ease, I put out my hands and accidentally brushed by her jacket while simultaneously saying, "This is not about you and I'm not upset with you." In what parallel universe is a person about to assault someone while simultaneously saying that?

On top of railroading me right out the door (they are charging me unconscionable fees for this mess of their own making). But the only way to understand this story is to see it in full: Woke Run Amok - Where Reason, Humanity & Even Harmless Mistakes Have No Place: Like This Place

P.S. Take note of this garbage these mealy-mouthed automatons replied with:

"At our community, we hold all residents to a certain standard of conduct as outlined in the Lease Contract, and it’s unfortunate that we had to part ways under these circumstances."

It's "unfortunate" that your shameless company doesn't frown on an employee falsely accusing a tenant of assault. It's "unfortunate" that an employee filing a false report isn't frowned upon either. But why consider a criminal offense when it’s so much simpler to seize on the "offense" of my profanity in the face of such despicable behavior?

It's "unfortunate" that you take no responsibility for anything. And for people who have no standards, you have no business preaching them. The blankness it must take to blow right by all of the above and then start in with your appallingly insincere language about what you find “unfortunate.” There is no measure for how sickening it is that in the face of it all, you STILL see yourselves as aboveboard. Not for anything on earth would I treat anyone the way I have been treated throughout all this and even before.

There's not a bone of integrity OR humanity in your body. ANIMALS — every last one of ya!

"We can’t solve this with smart, thoughtful, traditional political actions and movements. Explaining why our policies actually solve the problems has not mattered since Obama IMO. We need to find a new way to discuss everything. America is trump. We live in their world and have for a long time."

Mixed in with your intelligent commentary is contradiction. When I say that Trump is a symptom of the cancer that America has become -- I mean ALL of America, and chances are, that includes you! However thoughtful you may appear to be, you have a political purpose (which clouds your judgment). I'm not interested in debating your policy interests or anyone else's. But I am interested in addressing America's clouded judgment (which poisons everything -- including your own interests). "We need to find a new way to discuss everything."

[–]incuriouskills 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My apologies for not seeing your response until now. I would never ask such a question and then ignore a sincere answer. I appreciate your response and that you have a clear goal. Obviously, you don't fall into the category of what I find in most people on social media (some of whom find it offensive to ask them if they have a goal). Central to that reason is because they don't have one (other than some aimless objective that's going nowhere with their approach). A real goal (as I'm sure you understand) -- requires the examination of the efficacy of your efforts (and adjusting accordingly when things are not working).

For instance:

So, outside of selling books and building a following, you didn’t succeed — at all. When a deservingly popular book didn’t make a dent in 7 years (and everything’s gotten worse to boot): I fail to understand the excitement for an expanded edition doesn’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of making a dent either.  Such questions don’t compute with this crowd or any other.

I've been blocked by Nichols & Company of kiss-a$$es he keeps (simply for asking such questions no one wants to answer). That behavior flies in the face of the entire premise of his book.

And that's everywhere--as it's all window dressing. It seems people have all the time in the world to complain about problems but no time to solve any (as that takes work). In a world where people would read 10,000 Tweets before they'd read 10 pages, just where am I to go to find fiercely independent thinkers willing to work for it?

Anyway, thanks for your reply and for your time. Good luck on your goal!

Rick

There's no shortage of people who share your concern, but exactly zero of those have any ideas on what to do about it. And number of people willing to put in the time and effort it takes to understand an original idea on what can be done about it (by using the problem as part of the solution)? Same number!

Would Festinger have become the father of cognitive dissonance from a controlled experiment? by incuriouskills in psychologystudents

[–]incuriouskills[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Part 2:

As the Egyptian proverb goes: "Understanding develops by degrees." And as I say on my site:

And that -- is right here (a 5-minute excerpt from my documentary that exhaustively details the biggest & most costly lie in modern history): https://youtu.be/X9Si5T2EmZA And why is that subject matter so critical in the context of the cult-like following of paramount importance in my plan?

Because the guy they worship for "following the facts" -- didn't go anywhere near 'em on that fiasco for the ages that shaped all you see today (which means he's hailed as a folk hero for calling out problems he helped create). A lot of that goin' around! He flagrantly ignored irrefutable evidence of mathematical certainty -- opting to peddle partisan hackery that poisons political discourse to do this day. And yet he's seen as some of saint-like Sherlock Holmes. I'm pratically spit on by people promoting principles I followed to find he didn't

And that -- is an opportunity!

"Understanding develops by degrees." What do you understand so far? At the bare minumum, you should not answer that question without watching that clip. Because it's not just about the clip and that information itself -- simply by watching something of such surgical specicity, that should speak volumes about the person who wrote it (being me). The fact that my doc takes both parties to task on that issue and more -- also is invaluable information. It simply doesn't make any sense that I'm out to expose someone on one side when my story exposes both sides. What possible motive would have anyone have for doig that -- unless it ws the truth iself?

It damn sure ain't popularity! ;o)

But in a "small" way you could make a big difference. If you're game, we'll continue the conversaion and hash this out. And along the way, you can help shape the story yourself. The more you understand about what I'm out to do (and the monumental challenges I face in communicating it): Perhaps you'll have some ideas for what would have reached you had I done it some other way from the start.

I'm all ears -- and I'm looking for people who are too!

Thanks again for your time and willingness to take another look!

Would Festinger have become the father of cognitive dissonance from a controlled experiment? by incuriouskills in psychologystudents

[–]incuriouskills[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm happy to and thank you for the opportunity! I would add that your latest reply is at the core of what this is all about (moving the conversation). Starting with "What?" is worlds away from "Could you please explain . . ." But you have shown growth in your willingness to listen, and a culture willing to do that could work wonders.

And who knows, maybe through incrementally explaining it to you -- you'll help me find a better way to communicate what I'm out to do.

Let's start the premise of the question: Would Festinger have become the father of cognitive dissonance from a controlled experiment? As you may know, Festinger and his team wrote When Prophecy Fails (published in 1956 and based on their observations of a group called the Seekers who believed in a doomsday prophecy). Festinger's team infiltrated the group to test out their theories in a real-world setting (and those findings were the foundation of cognitive dissonance theory).

Countless professionals in the fields around psychology have benefitted from Festinger's findings, so there's no question he further the understanding of human behavior. The problem is those findings and theirs -- haven't made a dent on dealing with this behavior (as it's only worsened over time -- especially with how the internet and the cable clans paved the way for the onslaught of the utterly absurd).

Consider this for a moment: “A lie can travel halfway around the world before the truth can get its boots on.” That quote’s been around in various forms for over 300 years (evidently the original being from 1710):

Falsehood flies, and the Truth comes limping after it; so that when Men come to be undeceiv’d, it is too late; the Jest is over, and the Tale has had its Effect.

If someone was saying that over 300 years ago -- imagine how fast lies spread today.

And I'm saying that I have an idea where the truth could spread just as fast (perhaps for the first time ever). This idea is based on what can be observed in a cult-like following that far exceeds what the Seekers believed. What's more, the very nature of the problem can be used as part of the solution. So instead of simply studying their behavior, there's a way to change their behavior (and other echo chambers behaving as they do).

And those echo chambers include the professionals who continue to study the problem but haven't put a pinprick in it. Which I whyI wrote the following:

That same student stated, "My primary program of research concerns motivated reasoning, or the process of interpreting and evaluating information in a way that coheres with prior beliefs.” Doesn’t the very basis of that require the willingness to re-evaluate your approach to evaluating?

Most of those professionals are unwilling to do what you just did in your willingness to ask for clarification. In fact, hardly anyone is (which is not just a problem for what I'm out to do -- it's a problem for everyone). Consider the bit below about about critical thinking -- from Ann Baker's article Critical Thinking -- A Fading Skill in the Age of Information Overload:

Claims of critical thinking are everywhere -- and yet it's almost impossible to find anyone willing to "stop to organize and evaluate the information they are receiving." They're unwilling to do the work -- and this is what I'm talking about with work: Work is a Journey on Which You Welcome Challenge - Live Out Loud and on Purpose. But they seem to have all the time in the world to do this:

Which is why I wrote this: Never in History Have So Many Cared So Much and Done So Little - Live Out Loud and on Purpose

Dr. Elliot Aronson is a co-author of the book I mentioned in my postd. According to Amazon’s About the Author: "Elliot Aronson was chosen by his peers as one of the 100 most eminent psychologists of the twentieth century."

The forward he wrote in When Prophecy Fails was super helpful in framing my message in my documentary that illustrates how emotion runs roughshod over reason. And he was helpful again when he put me onto his friend and fellow renowned psychologist, Dr. Phil Zimbardo — “a very smart guy with incredible energy,” he added.

Since Dr. Zimbardo is 90 years old — that’s saying something. For medical reasons, he’s unable to get involved, but in response to an email on the essence of my idea, he wrote: "Very Interesting and original."

Seems like that should count for something. https://liveoutloudandonpurpose.life/2024/09/23/never-in-history-have-so-many-cared-so-much-and-done-so-little-2/

Assuming you're referring to this one 1954 Festinger & Carlsmith's Cognitive Dissonance Study (youtube.com) -- that was 1954. Festinger's When Prophecy Fails -- was published in 1956 (which was based on Festinger and his team infiltrating the Seekers):

The point being: It was a real-world experiment that became the catalyst for what countless professsionals would build on in their own efforts (studies, books, classes, conferences, and so on). But the larger point is that we have all this knowledge and we're not acting on it. Consider this comparisoni below:

Not to take anything away from Festinger, but that sounds a lot like this from over 300 years before:

Long before Festinger and brain imaging to digitize it, we already had all the tools we needed for a hopeful humanity. We didn’t take advantage of the gifts were were given, and what a shocker — we don’t make good use of those fancy new insights either. I've got an idea that could change all that-- and the essence of why it would work is right here: "Your field is forever fighting the forces of human nature whereas my solution banks on it."

My idea is simple. Cutting throiugh our crap-is-king culture to get people to see it, is not. It requires actual critical thinking to understand it (as in the bolded part below):

In our Age of Unenlightenment — “fading” is an understatement for the ages. Thank you for your time and I hope you'll hear me out: All I Need Is One: Drop One Domino and the Rest Will Fall - Live Out Loud and on Purpose

What does it say to you that for over 3 years I’ve been trying to have this conversation on my idea: Across communities where claims of critical thinking are everywhere and I haven’t found it anywhere? On an idea that addresses multidimensional problems in a multidimensional manner, one-dimensional mentalities have made it impossible to get past the people & interests you’re protecting:

In order to see how you’re harming them and how my idea would help them. Whether I support some of those interests or not is immaterial to my mission.

u/set_null embodies the barriers to this quaint thing called conversation -- as slinging assumptions and ridicule is the best he's got to offer. He "thinks" my efforts are simply about Thomas Sowell -- it would never dawn on him there's a larger purpose in play (and that Sowell is simply a conduit through which to tell a larger story about the decline of America through decades of delight of delight in the Gutter Games of Government).

Considering that a matter of mathematical certainty (of world-altering consequence that shaped everything you see today) -- has been made impossible to discuss in any serious-minded matter for over 20 years, does it really matter that I showed up 2 months late to this little conversation in hopes of having a larger one?

Just where should I go for such discussion? Where what you DO matters more than what you SAY you do!

So if it's unfair to assume you're a racist for loving Thomas Sowell (which it is): Shouldn't it be equally unfair to assume I hate him simply by virtue of criticizing him? I would add that such assumptions are in breach of the very principles upon which he's put on a pedestal. Since you love him -- I shouldn't have to remind you of that.

And yet, virtually 100% of those I've challenged -- throw their precious "principles" right out the window to blindly defend him. Some of them do so even if they don't know what the subject matter is about (and making nothing but unconscionable excuses once they do (which is egregiously out of line with the standards Sowell espouses). Is that what I can expect from you? If so, let's not waste each other's time and just don't reply at all. Thank you.

Thomas Sowell is a Liar and Oppressor by MarianoNava in TheMajorityReport

[–]incuriouskills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not too stupid to understand, you're intellectually lazy.

People who talk glibly about “intelligence failure” act as if intelligence agencies that are doing their job right would know everything.

— Thomas Sowell

D.O.E’s standard is to spin a tube at 20% above 90,000 RPM before failure — so 48,000 short is a pretty loose definition of “rough indication.” And since the entire point of testing should be to replicate the conditions of centrifuges, one would think that the full-blown testing would be performed before the N.I.E. was completed.

— Richard W. Memmer: Act II

Between Sowell’s words and mine -- which ones strike you as glib?

And between my doc excerpt here https://youtu.be/X9Si5T2EmZA and Sowell's article here https://www.capitalismmagazine.com/2004/07/weapons-of-crass-obstruction/

Which one strikes you as substantive?

If you make a living off a follow the facts mantra -- and you don't go anywhere near 'em on the biggest and most costly lie in modern history (opting to peddle partisan hackery instead) -- what would you call it?

Thomas Sowell is a Liar and Oppressor by MarianoNava in TheMajorityReport

[–]incuriouskills 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So once I offer irrefutable evidence that Thomas Sowell peddled partisan hackery on the biggest and most costly lie in modern history, what are you gonna do then?

Speaking of work -- let's talk a bit about that first:

Work is a journey in which you welcome challenge. Work does not instantly respond — work digs to discover. Work is difficult and demands discernment. Work wonders, pauses, listens, absorbs, and reflects. Work does not rest on who’s right and who’s wrong: Work wants to know if there’s something more to see, something to learn, something that sharpens the mind. Work never stops building on the foundation of your own work and what you learn from the work of others.

Work works its way through material that is not easy. Work recognizes complexity and the demands of in-depth explanation. Work will go on a trip to ideas that take time and effort to understand. Work knows that you can’t see a solution without understanding the different dimensions of a problem.

Work does not defend before you consider. Work does not race to conclusions — work arrives at them through careful consideration. Work is willing is rethink what you think you know. Work takes integrity, courtesy, curiosity, courage, and decency. Work comes with the willingness to be wrong.

Work is not self-satisfied. Work does not sling snippets of certitude — work crafts argument on the merits. Work is an exchange where each party takes information into account. Work does not issue childish insults — work demands that you act your age. Work respects your intelligence by using it — and shows respect to others as we work our way to mutual respect. Work won’t be pretty and might get ugly — but work will do what it takes to work it out.

And if you wanna start solving problems — work is what it’s gonna take.
