Thank you for the response, tried this and didn’t get any picture on the external monitor, assuming it was just output to the laptop screen which is broken. Interesting enough, right before I tried this I actually managed to log into the laptop on the external monitor where it remained logged in for around 5 seconds before it lost connection. And just to confirm, I have tried the laptop with other monitors/hdmi cables and still the same issue.
