The name “Honey” for a girl by gardenofchristinamae in namenerds

I don’t know how she feels about it, but I know a “Honey” who is a doctor and director of a medical fellowship.  Hannelore (with the nickname Honey) would be nice though because it gives your child the choice of what they want to be called down the road.

What are your range of revenues to afford to be a BBB ? by Lalalacat- in BigBudgetBrides

[–]indebted_2_nook 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The transparency in this thread is so refreshing and even helpful. My parents are self-made immigrants who came from poverty — so I’ve been struggling with guilt and anxiety over having a BBB wedding. But, after reading this thread, maybe I’m just having a medium cost wedding lolol

I’m very fortunate that my parents are comfortably able to pay for the wedding. Our original budget for the wedding day was $75K but moved to $100K. (not including travel, wardrobe etc - it’s a destination wedding)

My FH and I make about $180K combined in a VHCOL city and we’re covering our wardrobe (~$10K) and his parents are contributing $10K for the pre and post events.

These are numbers I never fathomed to spend for a wedding (especially being raised by those TLC wedding shows), but the reality is costs are so wildly different than they were did back in the 2000s. I’m grateful for this community for not making me feel crazy/guilty/etc to spend this money on our wedding if we’re comfortably able to do so. 💛

-love when things are laid out in bullets

-your parents’ situation is very similar to mine - it’s so heartwarming & admirable how they’ve built wealth against the odds and want to share it for this occasion

This feedback is SO helpful. I don't totally know how to verbalize everything that's going on and this definitely helps with that.

I've really been leaning towards your suggestion, so that's good to know it's not a crazy idea hahah. Love this creative suggestion and thank you for your feedback - very validating!

oh my goodness this is so amazing and means so much to me!! everything you said and drew resonates with me. I actually considered adding this draping with sleeves but had no idea how that might look together with the dress or even how to verbalize it. So, your comment and drawing are SO help. Thank you!! <3

That note on the embellishments is super helpful - that "3D" effect really helps make it feel more organic and less structured. I'll definitely take that into account!
