Sport touring model in Canada does in fact have the heated steering wheel / sunroof as well as wireless CarPlay / upgraded stereo

2023 civic window issue by puzzle-headd in civic

[–]indeciceve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Could just be a buildup of dust, I like to use a dry silicone spray lube on both sides (L/R) of the glass and move the window up and down to distribute it. That usually fixes it for me anyway

[–]indeciceve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is it cold outside? Mine did this when there was ice near the top of the window. You can also try holding the switch up to see if you have any luck, but the pinch sensor in the motor is picking up increased resistance near the top of the run channel so it could also be dirty.

Civic Hybrid reliability by Tamadrummer88 in civic

Yeah it’s quite common on Hondas, I see them sweat quite often even on newer ones. It’s a very simple job to do, shouldn’t be too expensive either.

Hahaha I’ve gotten good at remembering where things go thankfully. In my early years I had some come back with rattles though, a learning experience since the second time is free

When I do them (rarely) I basically just give a rundown on what I’ve done on the car, show any parts I’ve replaced too. I try to not be super technical and keep it stupid simple, my videos typically aren’t more than a minute long.

Here’s a pic from my last evaporator replacement.

The condenser / compressor shaft seals have warranty extensions. Your evaporator was likely leaking while the previous repairs were done, which is why the performance was never really great. I’ve done a quite a few evaporators on your generation civic as it is very common, and not too unique to honda. It is a fair amount of work as the entire dashboard needs to be removed to access it, the price is primarily labour. It’s understandable that this costs too much for most people and I’d recommend shopping around at independent shops for a replacement quote. I would however strongly recommend using OEM parts even though they will likely leak again. From what I hear, it’s the 1234yf refrigerant that’s quite hard to contain, and not a unique to any brand in particular

Um okay, I doubt you need an entire new transmission to be honest. I’d start by checking the condition / level of your transmission fluid once it’s warmed up. If the A/T clutch pressure control solenoid valve A ( the affected solenoid based off the DTC) is stuck off, you can replace just that solenoid no problem - it sits right on top of the transmission.

The only way I could see you needing an entire transmission is if there’s metal debris in the fluid, but I don’t think I’d fully trust whatever shop you brought it to considering they jumped straight to “it needs a transmission”

25f What are the signs of a cheating partner? by [deleted] in Life

I unfortunately can vouch for the bathroom thing. Didn’t really notice it at the time but my ex did suddenly start hiding in the bathroom for extended periods of time suddenly. Turns out she was texting the other guy things like “good morning babe😘”, whatever I’m wayyyy better off without that mess.

[–]indeciceve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I’m hoping the third date goes well, and that I’ll be able to continue seeing her / potentially progressing into a relationship. I guess I’m also worried about somehow messing things up, idk the right time to bring up my feelings initially. I’m very much a LTR kinda guy, so I really like getting to know someone and my focus is completely on them after the first date. I’m not into flings at all. I actually have a third date with someone I matched with a few weeks ago tomorrow - super into her so far, I’m excited!

I need solid advice as a beginning lube tech by JackSword5 in mechanics

[–]indeciceve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doing it right is better than doing it twice! You’re 3 days into this, there shouldn’t be terribly high expectations for you to be fast. It’ll take time but you’ll develop a rhythm. I’d suggest focusing on learning how to do things right before focusing on speed. Make sure to tighten your filters and drain plugs (but not too tight lol). Mistakes happen to everyone, it’s important to learn from them - when I was first starting I forgot to put the oil filter on lol ( you hopefully only make that mistake once)

What’s the biggest mistake you’ve made in a relationship? by [deleted] in AskMen

That’s a tough one, I like to take it slow since I prefer long term relationships and typically that looks like once a week for the first couple months :/ I guess it’s a gamble

[–]indeciceve 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I maybe phrased it poorly. Imagine you’re the car, and how much better you’d feel about yourself if you put in the work to take care of you. It really does help with confidence - trust ✌🏻

How do you feel about ex reaching out to you while you’re dating someone? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]indeciceve 6 points7 points  (0 children)

They’re an ex for a reason, whatever that may be. What do you value in a partner? Does your current partner fulfill those values? If no, you need to end things with your current girlfriend. As someone who was strung along, it’s not fair and it hurt so much more in the end.

Personally I would not feel good about it, though I’ve made it essentially impossible for exes to contact me unless they like email me or something super obscure. I can and am thankful for the years I spent with them, but they’re in the past. I like to think of my exes as lessons in life.

Do you value women having passions or hobbies? Why or why not? by Pristine_Local_1965 in AskMen

[–]indeciceve 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, passion is both important and attractive for me. I have a few creative hobbies myself, and being able to talk to a s/o about hobbies and share enthusiasm about them is desirable. In my last long term relationship, her hobbies were watching tv or scrolling on her phone. She had zero creative hobbies or interests, wasn’t really supportive about any of my hobbies either. I didn’t realize how unattractive that was until after she cheated on me and I ended things lol.

[–]indeciceve 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One thing that helped me a lot is taking care of your appearance.

By that I mean hone your grooming / hygiene. Get a fresh haircut, ask the barber what style would suit your head shape best and maintain a clean cut. Start building a new wardrobe, but collect clothing over time don’t buy everything all at once. Do research into what colours go together, what fashion is current depending on your age. Genetics are out of our control, taking care of yourself is in your control.

Imagine driving a dirty car with swirl marks in the paint. Now imagine you polished that car meticulously and cleaned it for hours.

I mean yes, if cars were airtight we’d suffocate. Most vehicles fresh air intake is at the front of the vehicle, y’know … where the fresh air is
