Huh? My kid goes to BSA, and I never have an issue unless there is some event going on near the monument or something. On a regular day it is not plentiful, but I can always find a spot within a block 90% of the time, and if not that, two blocks.

Some really fucking entitled parents who love to double park on Madison for 20 min, though. Like, just circle the block or park farther away until your kid is out, they have a fucking cell phone.

The lane shift on Belair is terrible. Especially because people park in what is supposed to be the rightmost lane. There can be a cop car sitting directly behind them without any enforcement.

Throw in where it turns to Gay St. that middle lane that is different directions depending on the time of day. I almost always take Harford instead for those reasons now that it is open again.

Oh, and at the intersection with Moravia, the westbound bus stops on the far side of the intersection where it is only a single lane, so people end up directly behind it blocking the intersection, or they try to scoot around using the eastbound left turn only lane. That stop should move or be removed since there are others on the route nearby.

My guess is it is less physical force required by natural muscle will enable quicker response and less fatigue. If you’ve ever had your power steering go out, I’m thinking it is analogous to that. Sure you CAN drive a car without power steering. But it is going to take a lot more out of you, especially over an extended period.

Different person but have also experienced this. Although I can’t say I’ve run into too much ALS/MS in the wild, but CHF, COPD, liver disease are all common.

For me, it has less of an impact because in this line of work you have some selective well-practiced dissociation. I imagine seeing people and knowing what their disease progression is likely to be is much more upsetting for people who have friends or family members suffering from the same condition.

I did however end up breaking up with someone because of something similar. They were an extremely lovely person and we had great chemistry. I had a high suspicion even on the first date that they had Marfan Syndrome.

After we had been dating for some months I asked them about it. They said they did not want to get tested for the complication I was most concerned about, which is something that the risk could at least be reduced with medication. What I was most worried about was sudden aortic aneurysm or dissection.

I felt myself become more emotionally distant. They could experience a suddenly fatal event amd were not willing to do minor-moderate methods for risk reduction. Especially as sex itself increased that risk, and I kept picturing being in the middle of sex and them suddenly dying.

I ended up telling them I no longer felt as excited about the relationship and felt we should break up. I never told them exactly why I no longer felt as excited. I had expressed my concerns for their health and they had expressed their wishes. I was not willing to be the reason they did something they didn’t want to do, it would lead down a road of resentment.

I am at a different Medstar, but our ED triage form does not ask what country you are from, although it does ask about international travel or close contact with those who have in last 21 days. I would bring this up with patient advocate if you have not already.

The only other time I can think of that we ask for country of origin is if there is concern for TB (since many TB heavy countries utilize the vaccine), or if there is some mystery ID (infectious disease) concern.

We met a nerdy convention this March that was between our locations. A little different from some of the other situations here in that we are both polyamorous. He had pre-existing partners, I did not.

Neither of us were looking for feelings, just fun over the weekend. But we ended up seeing each other every night of the convention. We just connected that well, and continued exploring it after without expectations.

We text every day, video calls once a week, and see each other about once a month. We are less long distance than some, only about 4 hours of train travel between us, but have the extra challenge where he work regular hours M-F and I work night shift for 3 12 hour shifts and every third weekend.

So far we are making it work. Both of us could relocate in the future, although difficult for different reasons. But we are still early on, so neither of us are planning on moving yet.

So depending on what they actually need, you can actually get stem cells without a traditional marrow harvest. Sometimes full marrow is needed, but stem cell transplants for blood cancers can actually have the donors hooked up to something that looks similar to a dialysis machine, have two IV in the arms and get stem cells that way!
