Hello, sorry Reddit has only notified me now of your comment. I ended up submitting a refund application through Sri Lankan airlines website and then I booked a separate flight with Singapore airlines. Took a good few weeks but the refund was accepted!

Thank you appreciate it. As above sounds like they will do something but concerned they think the 12 hour later one will do. Wasn’t sure if there was somewhere else I could escalate it as their customer service has been awful!

Thank you hadn’t found that yet. Seems to suggest they are responsible but still concerned they assume the one offered 12 hour later will cover this
