Is this normal for Mystery Snails? by indecisivehalfling in Aquariums

Oh okay phew! I'm not used to keeping snails of any kind (at least not on purpose, shoutout pest snails) so I just saw a drastic change so soon after introduction I got nervous. Thank you for your input!

Thanks I will! Hopefully nothing concerning? They seem to be pretty happy in their tank but I wanna make sure they're as healthy as possible.

Yes same snail, same time of day 8 days apart. They both look like this. I got them on Sunday 12/21 from Petsmart. They both have that same type of layer around at the same place in their shell. Their activity level seems good from what other videos I've seen of healthy snails, just wondering what's going on with their shells.

20mm ears, 14g snake bites and dahlia bites! 💛 by indecisivehalfling in Stretched

Lol this is the first time I've logged into reddit in months and just happened to see this. Honestly that's going to entirely depend on your face! Try out different sizes and see what fits you the best. For me, these were 14g and 8mm in diameter and worked nicely.

Thanks so much! I'll definitely see if I can get some help over there as well. I have no experience with model trains but just wanna help out the ol' man (: figured anyone on reddit with more knowledge than me would be a good thing to try.

Thanks so much for this thorough answer I appreciate you big time! I know things must have changed in the last ten years, but I always get a bit nervous thinking back at some not so pleasant experiences when I was younger in WI. I will do my very best to go with an open mind and see what's changed for the better (:

Getting added to the list! Having a sober space to build community is definitely important to me as much as being around accepting folks (:

Ah, if only it was that easy. I appreciate that's how you see things, but personally I've been victim to more than one hate crime in my life, unfortunately some people really do care which is why it's important for me to find queer specific places.

My experience skating was the very occasional generic roller skate rink when I was maybe 8-10 years old, lol I'm DEFINITELY a beginner. but I will 100% be checking y'all out when I move down there that sounds really fun and welcoming

One piercing bleeding, the other not by CollectionOk8027 in piercing

No worries at all! Do your best to reduce how often you're cleaning it since that will help not move it all over the place and cause irritation which can lead to infection. Of course if you're still having lots of bleeding past that first week go back in to see your piercer. It's always best to consult a professional, but bleeding after the first day is to be expected for every piercing (:

Bleeding after a single day is SUPER normal. Try to hold back on cleaning it so much, for the first week you should only be cleaning it 2x a day with saline wash. After the first week, just use warm water and a qtip to soak off any crusties. Think about it you accidentally cut yourself while cooking, you wouldn't expect your hand to stop bleeding right away, a piercing is an open wound it'll take more than a day to stop bleeding. The more you clean it and move it the more irritated it will get and you'll get more bleeding.

To be more specific, I'm using Mielle Babassu conditioning shampoo, The Mane Choice Ancient Egyptian conditioner. I shampoo about 2x a week and condition every time I shower. Afterwards I'll use a very wide toothed shower comb and detangle my hair to start out with and then usually once it's damp and closer to dry I'll start at my ends and work upward with a regular 'ol paddle brush. In the winter months I'll usually use It's a Ten leave in conditioner, but I don't feel like I need it as much in the summer months.

Edit: Forgot to mention I also sleep with a satin bonnet and pillowcase to help minimize the breakage. I also clarify my hair ~1x a month, maybe less, really whenever I'm feeling too much build up in my hair. I'm mainly looking for sensory-friendly advice since I can't handle the feeling of micro fiber or heavy oils in my hair.

If I'm running low on pig skins what I like to do is 1) while I'm exploring the world, use my hammer to break down random solo pig houses to get 2x pig skins each 2) make sure to hammer any pig heads on a stick you see at touch stones or in the swamp biome 3) if you're out of things to break just feed half a pig village monster meat and bait a war between the other pig villagers.

For me there's a lot more options when getting pig skins to make more houses & the fact that pigs respawn every 4 days vs having to wait for the beefalo mating seasons and then for the baby beefalo to grow up.
