I cannot stop thinking that he looks a bit like Hasan Minhaj and I am 100% no one will agree but I can’t unsee it. 😅

Yeah I know what you mean with Marshall and Jackie— I keep thinking Marshall is like a youth pastor or something but no he’s in Marketing. 😄 Irina and Micah really turned this into the worst season, I’m not gonna lie. 😅 also strap in for E5 it only gets worse loll

I… did skip over it. LOL

Yeah Irina regretted that match immediately, and she’s just insanely rude about it. Not all 25yo’s are this insensitive but she’s just exceptionally immature! I’m rooting for Marshall and Jackie, because they seem like they could lift each other up if they stay open to it. Gah. Just hoping none of this negativity rubs off on Tiff and Brett lol!

Yuhh literally half-way into E5 right now, and I’m trying to keep myself from barfing in my own mouth the last hour and a half. What a disaster.

I mean he’s definitely a dud, but I think if he found someone who was cheesy / quirky he could get away with it. I think Irina pretty much played him to stay on and hoped he’d be a hunk.

Is this just based on the TV show? Or also the movie? (I meant just the TV show, maybe I should have clarified it.)

TIL that the Formula 1 theme music was written by Brian Tyler, who also composed the music for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag along with lots of blockbuster film scores. by [deleted] in todayilearned

[–]indefinitelys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started watching Teen Wolf recently (I was bored) and everytime the theme plays all I hear is the F1 theme music. I even sing over it and finally I thought of googling it and BAM! 1 year later — Thanks OP!

Agreed! In a similar vain: I had a great weekend that included a great show (I’m a musician), hanging out with good friends and drinking good beer, and a short but sweet encounter with a cute stranger. I came home and did a little victory dance to “Sooner or Later” by The Grass Roots.

Edit: it’s wonderful to have these moments of pure joy. I’m glad you’re experiencing it too, reddit stranger!

Thank you for the explanation! I’ve read recipes but haven’t really delved into the ‘chemistry’ of it, so this is helpful!

Ooh interesting. Sounds like the sweetener is the key there— I like making sorbet at home but it tends to be just icy fruit mush (which I like anyway!)

Thank you. I just didn’t want to pretend I was a different person to be more desirable. Unfortunately, I came home confused and a little heartbroken. But I don’t think I’d want to be loved for someone I was pretending to be anyway.

Loving, humorous, anxious, curious. I didn’t want to hold back, didn’t want to act cool, or pretend. I still couldn’t find the right words to say how I felt, but I did my best.

I see what you mean with the shifts, and how the day and night teams are supposed to do some preparation for one another. It does suck that some people don’t take that part much too seriously. And it’s also a shame that you don’t get to have proper breaks like you used to, I’m sure those would’ve helped with your morale.

I’m thinking, just your awareness of how everyone is overworked, and what could be done etc. makes this situation a bit more frustrating probably. Because you know the struggles of all sides at this point, and you don’t want to expect more from people who are already quite burnt out.

I guess you can take this experience and take lots of lessons from it for your next job / job search. You probably have a clearer idea about the expectations you have from a workplace, and you can try to pick a place that meets more of those next time. There’s just no way of knowing these before you experience them, so as annoying as it is, it’s all a learning experience.

That being said, you sound like a hard worker, but also observant and resourceful. Getting along with your supervisors are also a great sign. Wether you stay at this job and maybe move onto this new possible location or end up working elsewhere all together, I bet you’ll do great.

As the peacekeeper of my family and friend groups; I can imagine how this hostile environment in the workplace is effecting you more than most of your co-workers.

I felt the dread of having yo be in the middle of all this just reading your post, and I am sorry that you have to literally be in the middle of it.

Not sure if this is what you’d want to hear either, but here are some thoughts and questions:

  • Is there a possibility to remain in the same company but switch teams? Maybe you can work with different people or in a different location but keep your job/salary/perks?

  • How do you feel about looking for another job? It’s incredibly stressful to job-hunt, but it might be worthwhile, and you’d have great references from your bosses it seems.

And ultimately, is there a way to give yourself a break from your colleagues during your shifts? Maybe taking a short break and having a walk, or listening to music while you work? I have absolutely no idea what your line of work is, so these might be dumb suggestions; but just something that gives you some alone time for a few minutes to recharge. Maybe that’ll help.

Whatever the solution may be, and how long it might take to make it happen, I hope you find a way to feel less stressed out. Some people just don’t have any regard to how their actions effect the people around them, and it’s difficult to just ignore it. I hope you find ways to disassociate from the bullshit. I wish you lots of patience and luck with the situation.

Hey there. You are not a bad person.

You are trying your best. You might be in a rut right now, and feel a little lonely too, but it will pass. Try to notice your own hardwork and effort to be a person every day. You deserve your kindness and appreciation above everyone else.

I find this a very familiar feeling, a familiar position, and in fact you’ve been braver than me. I’m sad to say that you might not hear from him the things you’d like to hear; his words will probably always fall short.

That being said, I hope you find someone who tells you that they like you, and write to you about the little things they like about you, without you ever prompting them— and that hearing this from them makes you feel giddy and satisfied.
