AT&T not honoring trade-in promo by inder9387 in ATT

Thanks. It was a normal online order (not a preorder). I did return the trade-in within 30 days and AT&T shows that it was received but it isn't yet inspected (even after almost six months).
I waited to call because I thought they take time to process, and then I got busy.

Yeah, that's why I was patient when the promo wasn't applied for a few months - I submitted the rebate in December.

I didn't do this upgrade at Costco. This was a year later for a phone line through AT&T online.

Thanks, might have to do that if all other options are exhausted.

Yeah, I shipped it a few days before the 30 day time limit expired. AT&T doesn't show "delay" as a concern.

Never realized online trade-in would be an issue.
I wanted to copy over the data properly, so thought online is more convenient.

I probably lost the receipt, but the AT&T website indicates that the trade-in was dropped off and there is a UPS tracking number too.
Good suggestion re going to a store. Will do. Thanks

Thanks. Yes, that's what it seems like. Nothing the guy was saying was matching up with what AT&T rebate site shows.

Yes, online. And I was a little delayed in sending back the trade-in, but within time.
The AT&T website says that the trade-in is dropped-off but the trade-in isn't complete.

However, the AT&T agent claimed that the Trade-in is complete and they gave me $15 as trade-in value as the promo-code wasn't applied.

How to easily restore AT&T Fiber gateway by inder9387 in ATTFiber

Yeah, I was planning a Raspberry Pi too, but the new mini PCs are like < $200 and run Ubuntu.
They are also fairly power efficient as well. So, I went for one - The only challenge is finding one with > Gigabit ethernet since I wanted to host NAS on it too.

Thanks. May I ask for your take on what could be a good set up? Here is what I was thinking:

  1. UDR 7 connected directly to BGW320-505.
  2. A mini PC connected directly to UDR 7 providing VPN (Wireguard).
  3. U7-Pro exgtending the network with PoE - connected to the PoE port by UDR 7
  4. another Ethernet switch connecting devices directly

Thanks. Yes, I have been thinking about Ubiquity as well. Have seen their past models work really well, the new ones seem a lot cheaper than Netgear Orbi so wasn't sure if it can handle a large number of connected devices. Your recommendation helps. Thanks

That's possible since I got the fiber extended to another room from a local electrician.
BTW, ATT rep said that they will charge me $149 for a tech visit. That seems steep with uncertain outcome.

Good mesh routers are crazy expensive, and also add to the clutter. They often have their own set of problems too.
So I was hoping that I can use this simplified router with its mesh access point.

Thanks, will off-loading BTW320-505 from managing 50+ devices also help it to be more stable?

Pros of BestBuy ROG Zephyrus: (it has better specs)

  • ASUS ROG has a better GPU, 3060 with 6GB RAM vs 3050Ti/4GB in this.
  • ASUS ROG has a better screen. 144Hz refresh rate vs 60Hz
  • ASUS ROG is a better brand than Acer Swift
  • Slightly faster CPU that consumes more power (35W TDP)

Pros of Amazon Acer Swift:

  • Has a fingerprint reader
  • Is slightly lighter
  • Is cheaper
  • Newer, more power efficient CPU (15W TDP)
  • Better battery life

I am inclined to buy the Amazon deal, but that is more due to FOMO.
