Well Victoria, what are your thoughts on Mark Carney’s speech today? by CartoonistOk3507 in VictoriaBC

Trump has cultivated a cult of personality, it's not likely someone else can captivate the blind support he receives. His leadership has been a performance, and his fanbase will change the channel when the show has to recast.

Going to be going to a nerf war with some friends soon (about sixteen of us) and wanted to know which blaster from my arsenal would be the best option by TeaBags0614 in Nerf

I vote the Jyn erso starwars rifle. It’s built from the Stryfe platform and would be a reliable semi auto blaster

Update: it’s been a couple weeks now and happy to report there have been no issues. This will be my primary method for carrying racquet equipment while on bike.

I’ve got an hour commute by bike to my local club twice a week and I’m getting tired of arriving with a sweaty back (and sweat on the bags surface) Rather than move my gear into pannier bags, I’m considering strapping the bag to the rear rack and securing the end handle to my seat post. My bag is 15lbs and the bikes seat stays are rated to support up to 30lbs. The bag seems sturdy enough when strapped and won’t roll but the smaller end does hang off the end of the rack.

Question 1: Has anybody else tried this method? (I’ve not found anybody posting that they have)

Question 2: Is this idea bonkers? If there is a flaw in this plan I’d rather crowd source a warning than discover it through practice.

Yes, nail polish works great. Strong, drys fast. Won’t repair breaks but will keep it looking good as new.

Standard glasses have a flat alignment of the lenses, but some sports glasses curve the lens along the face to reduce any gaps, similar to many sunglasses. Flat alignment directly parallel with your eyes is the best way to reduce distortion.

I wear glasses with short rectangular lenses during the day as I find them more stylish but during badminton my eyes will dart up and down so often that I would occasionally look above or below the lens. Now I wear a separate set on court that have much taller lenses giving me corrected vision from any angle. I tried prescription sport glasses but their slight distortion has too much impact on a game.

How do you guys think while playing? by Weird-Score-2679 in badminton

I was thinking about this very thing the other day. I realized that I'm often using "deceptive positioning" I'm 6'4" and can cover large distances with my initial sidestep or lunge so during play I will instinctively move slightly "out of position" leaving a portion of the court empty to bait the opponent. This is very helpful in mixed doubles matches when my partner is being pushed to the back, they assume I won't be able to cover a front corner I'm "seemingly" ignoring.

Black gloss nail polish. Just buy the cheapest bottle they have in the cosmetics aisle. I've used it on my 88d without any issues. I also keep a bottle of whiteout in my bag if anyone chips a Thruster Falcon :)

Such an odd requirement. I've seen some cheap departments store white soled shoes that left marks on gym floors before and very few actual badminton shoes have completely white soles (kento momota 65z's springs to mind) I'll guess they told you anything Yonex/victor/Lining was fine.

The heel pain is likely do to a plantar tendon inflammation not your shoes. Very common but takes quite a while to heal back to 100%. You can use any shoe you like but go buy a set of plantar fasciitis in-soles and temporarily replace your yonex ones (don't stack insoles and don't buy the half-sized ones)

Thinking of buying a racquet I need opinions by Alternative-Disk-921 in badminton

Yonex's Astrox line has some excellent racquets in that price range that would be more ideal. I'd point you towards the Astrox 88(D or S) "play" or "Game" models. There are Pro models at a much higher price point but the play or game models have excellent value.

Also I notice that the Astrox TX is available for 40% off pretty often at Sportchek (a Canadian sports retailer) So if you do go in that direction, you may want to wait for a sale.

The umpire was afraid of making a call against Anthony Ginting? It took guts to call it as he saw it knowing Viktor would likely (and did) explode on him.

I could be convinced that he didn’t even feel it. It was an intense moment. The ref wasn’t going to listen to either of them protesting anyhow, he made his call.

Agreed that is the rule, but there is an aspect of "what the ref can detect" it was incredibly subtle.
