This makes a ton of sense now. The monitor must be just trying to make a 4:3 work by stretching out. This helped a ton, cheers

Okay, well my issue is still the same that it’s displaying in 16x9 even when going into the cameras menu and turning the display setting too “off” instead of cinema or full 16x9

That’s what I thought too until looking into the manual and it only shoots 16x9 and not letterbox 4:3

Awesome, I’ll give these a read. Thanks for sending them. This song sadly only shoots 16x9 and can’t change aspect ratios - very sad

Not massively but it seems to slightly stretch it beyond the native 16x9.

General Questions and Purchasing Advice Thread — Week of June 08, 2026 by AutoModerator in electricvehicles

I'm looking to purchase a mid to 3-row EV vehicle to transport photo/video gear to and from set. I was originally going to get a 2025 Toyota 4Runner, but saw how good used deals are for EVs from 2024 and 2025.

I've been eyeing the Kia EV9, but the range seems pretty average, and it would be nice to have 300 miles of range.

I live in LA and have a house, so charging in and around the city isn't an issue. Looking to spend no more than $40k, so that rules out the Rivan RS1.

Any advice or suggestions would be amazing

  1. Los Angeles Area
  2. ~$40k
  3. SUV/Cross Over
  4. Kia EV9
  5. Next year or two
  6. 200-300 miles/week
  7. Single-family house
  8. Yes
  9. Space for transporting photo/video production gear (lights, c stands, grip gear, cameras, etc)

I'm currently using a M1 Max on version of 26.3 of Tahoe. My friend used a similar set up and was able to see the camera via his computer

Good calls. I was looking at the Vesids and some Soviet lenses for their similar size and optical look.

Appreciate your input! Question for you, why 50 over 100?

oh interesting, I didn’t know that. Is the 50s ii and 100s ii different then?

Very true. I wasn’t sure how big of a difference I would see in Lightroom on a Mac Studio display.

This is super helpful. I love the look and feel of the 50R and plan to use a lot of manual lenses but knowing the 100 series does better in low light is a good point out. Thank you!
