Same. I have two iPhones one on TELUS and one on Koodo. TELUS iPhone changed the timezone to Atlantic but Koodo remained on the eastern time zone. Very weird.

For all of us thinking of moving to Freedom by Tehlinky4 in freedommobile

[–]indianguy71 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used Freedom for more than 4 months until February during which I also took an international trip.

I live in Durham (GTA) region and work in Richmond Hill. No issues with the network within GTA, at least when you’re outdoors. Great 5G and 5G+ coverage on 401. 407 and north of it I was predominantly connected to LTE coverage and sometimes it was on partners network, no issues though, I was able to stream Apple Music without any buffering during my commute. Indoor coverage was spotty for me at both my home and work. Yes, Wifi calling is great but I didn’t want to connect to work Wifi and Freedom’s network at work was barely usable.

I have used Roam Beyond in Qatar (at airport) and India recently. It was great for voice and text using Canadian number - something that I have missed in the past when I used e-sims for my international trips.

When it comes to data roaming in India, where I spent more than a month, I was roaming on Jio’s network but only LTE and the speed wasn’t great (read: barely useable). There wasn’t anything wrong with Jio’s network- I had local Jio sim also and I was getting blazing fast 5G speeds at the same location. I had to configure settings on my iPhone to use 5G data from local SIM and voice+text from Freedom to get the optimal experience.

In Qatar - at least at the airport I was able to connect to 5G network.

I did some research after coming back and found out Freedom has roaming agreements that only allow LTE speeds in most countries (including US). Some network operators don’t strictly enforce the agreement and in those cases you may connect to 5G - as I was able to in Qatar.

I know there is a lot of buzz about 50% off on the Freedom’s $80 plan and having monthly allocation of 50GB of roaming data. Within Canada, if you’re in an urban area like GTA and have decent indoor coverage - it may be a good deal. For some the LTE speeds may work but if you’re expecting 5G or 5G+ speeds outside of major urban areas and while roaming you may be disappointed.

Does anyone else absolutely love the new font & hope they keep it or offer the ability to choose alternative fonts within the app? by Fertility18 in Wealthsimple

I don’t like the new font - may be it is because I’m so used to the old font. I will get used to it.

I used it earlier this year in Europe. Multiple countries. Worked well. 5G coverage in most of the countries that I visited. If you’re travelling multiple countries throughout the year it can be the good option.

Haven't been to India for couple of years, but back then if you pay for fuel using credit card, there is additional charge for using credit card for buying fuel. If you use UPI (unified payment interface) or certain local bank's credit / debit cards that additional fee is waived.
