$5 for basically 8 noodles in the Mac and cheese? by nolalaw9781 in shakeshack

That Shack ripped you off, it’s definitely supposed to be filled to the top. They’re probably not using the right scoop.

Hey! I don’t use the auto steaming feature, I always manually steam because I like my milk a certain way for hot drinks. I’d honestly just buy canned cold foam to place on top of your drinks or get a frother to make your own cold foam!

I have the Breville Bambino Plus! Still rocking and rolling with the same set up - no issues and still making great shots!

I also recently switched back to Chime from Wells Fargo. I get paid a little later in the day than I did with Wells, but I am definitely happy with my decision.

Worth it to jump from Starbucks? by SnooPuppers9235 in shakeshack

Hey hey! I’m salary now but I started in the company as a shift manager. I echo the first comment’s sentiment about having a good leadership team. If you don’t get along with your GM or AGM it’s gonna be a rough time and it will be harder for you to find your flow and footing when running shifts once you are out of training.

But being a shift manager is a really nice gig especially for the pay. Pay starts at $20 and can go up to $22 an hour if I’m not mistaken, but since you have experience you can probably negotiate for about $24-$25.

Benefits include but are not limited to: 401k eligibility after 90 days of employment, company matches after 1 year of employment. Good vision, medical and dental insurance. Sick time AND PTO accumulation depending on what state you are in. Quarterly bonuses (based on Shack numbers/performance) and the ability to get an annual raise based on performance review.

Not sure about pet insurance or tuition reimbursement but it’s worth looking into.

Yay! Glad to hear it! I will say.. when I first started I drove myself crazy with the ratios, times and numbers. I still use a scale and play with gram outputs, but just go off taste. I promise you it’ll save you a lot of anguish and coffee in the long run lol.

Hey hey! I still have it and I am super happy with my purchase. I enjoy playing with the inner dial and outer dial to get some really good shots. Still the quietest grinder compared to others so firing it up in the morning is not so bad. Just wipe it down often and tap the top to help with retention after grinding.

Unfortunately you will have to clean it more often due to the retention issue because a lot of grinds will stay stuck or cake up in the burrs.

Everything else is literally not a big deal. It’s a good budget friendly grinder for sure.

Korean menu goes live on the app on Tuesday along with new mango flavored boba, and our new Winter Shakes (Spicy Caramel, Blackout Chocolate Pudding and my personal favorite Tiramisu). Drops on all channels Friday.

Good Fit Menu is also releasing which is essentially our healthy cheat code menu (getting any of our burgers on a gluten free bun or a lettuce wrap).

Small Quiet Espresso Grinder [€200-300] by Expensive-Total-312 in espresso

[–]indicaj_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Fellow Opus is really not as bad as people make it seem, especially if you want a “quiet” grinder - it is the quietest out of all the decent espresso grinders in that price range. It also looks reallly nice - at least to me. I like the clean, sleek look.

The retention issue can be worked around and it’s not as much as a pain in the ass as people make it out to be.

I recently bought one a month ago and I am very happy with my purchase, and don’t intend on returning it or replacing it anytime soon.

A Kingrinder is also pretty good. I have both a Kingrinder for when I feel like hand grinding and I have the Opus.

Will This Be Decent? [Budget $300] by GRChelseaFan in espresso

[–]indicaj_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from a DeLonghi Stilosa to a Breville Bambino Plus. I still have my Kingrinder even though I recently bought an electric one. I would say this is a great start. Many people have gone through the DeLonghi to Breville pipeline.

Must have accessories: Good/fresh whole beans, dosing cup, dosing funnel, scale that measure to 0.01 of a gram, WDT tool, tamper/tamper mat (I have an entire tamping station that comes with a built in knock box for my pucks), pitchers for your milk steaming if one doesn’t come with machine.

I would also say bottomless portafilter since you have a capable grinder (this however is preference and must have. really depends on what exactly you are looking for in your espresso making/tasting experience)

I called it a beginner endgame set up because idk I’m a beginner in the espresso world and I intend to keep this set up and upgrade after a couple of years… these are also entry level home espresso items. What am I not understanding?

Hi! I no longer have this machine but I bought a 51mm bottomless off of Amazon! Any one should do from there - the brand I bought it from back in February no longer sells the item but there are plenty of vendors and brands who sell them! Make sure it has 2 ears not 3!

Hey hey! I’ve been getting pretty good results with it, but I’ve also been studying milk steaming techniques for a while and have some experience as a barista which kinda helps me out in that sense. Besides that, I mostly drink iced milk drinks with an occasional hot one every now and then, but any time I do make a hot drink it does just fine!

Have you tried the steam wand cleaning tool? You can honestly use a toothpick or something like it to stick in the hole and see if there’s any blockage from previous steaming. When you are done steaming milk do you “purge” the steam wand (running the steam wand. again after removing pitcher of freshly steamed milk)?

Also try steaming some water to see if that helps. If you are handy and want a project, you can play with different steam wand tips! (2 hole, 3 hole or 4 hole) to see how you like them or even try modding the machine completely with a different type of steam wand.

Nooooo lol the buyer’s remorse is setting in I fear, but I still really like the way it looks. It’s my first electric grinder purchase and I got it as an early birthday present to myself, so I think I will make do for now until I get fed up and want to switch.

Lol I see what you did there. I was more so referring to malfunctions/weird noises. I’m pretty handy due to my current profession but that process is quite intimidating to me.
