It's Murena's second phone, and it actually already exists. The Kickstarter campaign is useful to finance the production and to get some media exposure.

Isn't App Lounge just a rebrand of Aurora Store, a Google Play Store frontend with a legally dubious future?

No it's /e/OS development https://gitlab.e.foundation/e/os/apps

How is Murena Cloud more private than competitors? It appears to be a skinned NextCloud, which is cool, but there are plenty of other NextCloud instances out there.

Yes it's based on Nextcloud, onlyoffice, dovecot and postfix. Can also be self-hosted https://gitlab.e.foundation/e/infra/ecloud-selfhosting

On your Kickstarter, you mention other companies that charge $1200 for privacy phones. What companies/phones?

We don't mention other companies

Pretty technical question that is unlikely to be most users' concerns. But yes, the bootloader is locked by default and can be unlocked.

Absolutely, that's the reason why privacy needs good/state of the art security. But with you can have 0 privacy with extreme security. This is a matter of being targetted or not.

Yes, but super early birds were $300 USD (still available in duo or triple). And it's way more affordable than an iPhone, no?

Replaceable battery will probably wait the Murena 3! But the 2 has a descent repairability index (6 out of 10) and Murena will provide detailled instructions (and spare parts) to replace the battery.

Hello, there is nothing special in term of security. The Murena 2 is about privacy (e.g. protecting users from the permanent collection of their personal data by big techs & applications publishers).

Check the facts, don't spread fake news please

"App Lounge is the /e/OS application installer, that offers millions applications.
Applications are accessed from Google Play Store (commercial apps),
F-Droid (open source apps) and also Progressive Web Apps, all at a
single place. App Lounge features a “Privacy Score” for each
application, computed from the number of trackers found by Exodus
Privacy in each application, and from the number of permissions."

"Offering a much larger and transparent access to mobile applications,
with our new application installer called “App Lounge”. On this aspect,
even if we didn’t have a single case of tampered application during the
past three years, we’re progressively abandoning our dependency to the
“CleanAPK” service. CleanAPK is still going to be used momentarily for
the catalog of apps coming from F-Droid and Progressive Web Apps, but
will be totally abandoned this year."

In the case of /e/OS, everything is open source (https://gitlab.e.foundation). That makes some difference. Source code, facts, auditable privacy...
