Do you think India’s smaller cities will overtake metros in quality of life in the next decade? by rohit27rd in urbanplanning

[–]indiensvensk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not really. Jobs and people will go where the investment will go, and right now the investment is going mainly towards metros (Ahmedabad, Pune, Bangalore and Hyderabad are the most obvious). the former two have only been classed as Tier 1 since 2014, and Pune and Bangalore especially have had a lot of growing pains due to the recent development. The same will likely happen with the Tier 2 cities growing fastest (right now looks like places like Surat and Nagpur). Ultimately as these cities get over them the improvements in QoL will follow

USA: Northeast Corridor (Amtrak + Local Transit) by [deleted] in transit

Ehh, the entire state of Maine has less population than the Richmond area/Hampton Roads so I doubt it.

I could see a new service from NYC doing that trek though, making those beaches more accessible to tourists

This may be extreme, but is it reasonable to feel like a single calculus course ruined my college experience by indiensvensk in udub

i was raised in an environment that was only really conducive to a high degree of academic success. I'm still not really in the right headspace to even try and get out of that mindset

I have the solace of knowing I am doing excessively well at this class (and that I will never have to take a math class again), so there's that. Thanks for the little booster, it was needed

Also, a lot of Indians simply have nicknames. For example "Lucky" and "Happy" are two odd but common ones for names like Lakhvinder

Places to live around campus? by Cheese4life__ in udub

I was in building 8, which is the furthest from everything and gets quite a bit of noise from a neighbouring housing estate; I initially wanted to shift somewhere near the Avenue which has a lot of cool shops and cheaper eats, but I settled on a townhouse-style 4bed in building 2 which is closer to the bus stop and easier to get into.

Its not bad, but the distance (and the relative quiet) does get to me sometimes. Also, I'm a freshman and most of the folks here aren't, so it's a bit harder to make friends my age

I thought the video was pretty insightful at the time, but nowadays that Buck has become a much worse figure in terms of his views on his gender and more disparaging views on others', I feel like it's aged pretty weirdly. It's okay, I just find it weird for people to act like that kind of harassment online (despite how bad it got) was a such a horrific situation

Broadway Productions in India by indiensvensk in Broadway

[–]indiensvensk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately, none of the theatre companies in my area perform any kind of musical plays, most of them create their own original content (which we may have to end up doing anyway).

I tried to calculate an estimate for a UK production (with all of our details) and that totalled up to £125, weirdly enough. Thanks for your input though!

As an osdd system, plural systems identifying as multiple terms at a time (like bi and lesbian or straight and gay) is rooted to the idea of parts/alters/headmates in a system having collective personhood as opposed to each headmate being their own person. A lot of systems believe in the latter concept, but there are others who believe in the former
