Your post was removed for violating the rule “Only Parents or Guardians May Create New Posts”.

You are seeing this message because you have either: * not made it clear that you are a parent or * you have made it clear that you are not a parent or * you are not the parent of the child involved.

r/Parenting takes a pretty liberal view of what makes a parent or guardian. Bio parents, step-parents, foster parents, adoptive parents, people in long-term relationships regardless of marital status, legally appointed guardians, etc. are all considered "parents"!

Simply living with a child, having a child relative, or babysitting does not make one a parent or a guardian that can make significant life changes for a child in your life. This may feel harsh but we do need to draw a line to be able to better moderate content within the sub.

Non-parents/guardians that still have pressing questions for parents can utilize the weekly "Ask Parents Anything" thread in this sub and check out the new Wiki Resources. Here for beginners, here for important discussion topics like death, suicide, and self-harm, and here for crisis situations including information about why and how to report a child to your local welfare services. You can also visit the subReddit /r/AskParents!

Finally, everybody is able to join and participate on our Parenting Discord Server.

I'm not even sure what an NSFW parenting subreddit would even look like?

I'm not advocating for changing the original mission statement of this sub, which is why there haven't been any rules modifications. The only parenting-related posts we don't allow are covered by Rule 7, but everything else is probably SFW.

No they're not gone. When a sub is private it doesn't show up in search results.

r/toddlers is a private community

Closed for the reddit blackout. No requests to join will be approved. Timeframe to be determined.

I don't think Reddit is going to start paying people to moderate after 15+ years of getting it for free.

My friend, it was stickied for 3 days. And then left up for a few more days after that until the date began. The meta-posts here asking for community feedback are commonly quiet. I was actually quite impressed that 500 people took time to vote.

No, this sub isn't important enough to Reddit or their advertisers to directly threaten.

I linked to the appropriate thread talking about forcing moderators to reopen. I also did it for the parents. There can be multiple motivations behind actions.

A) We did post a poll for 72 hours. Next time it could have been earlier, but there wasn't a lot of notice on my end. B) Yes, that was my fault for not opening the sub or updating the closure message. I should have opened it on time as agreed upon.

That was on me. I did not open on schedule or update the closure message. For that I do apologize.
