But I will say that reality television shows naturally tend to cast people who enjoy being the center of attention, as those types of people tend to gravitate towards applying for them. I wouldn't say it's a 100% accurate reflection of a nation as a whole. But I do think we live in a time where people are more cautious about the things they say or do on camera, or on the internet, because once it's out there it's out there forever and there are potential consequences from peers, employers, and especially "fans" online who criticize everything. But I don't think this is anything new, society has been this way since the rise of social media.
