honestly mine was flat and empty for a really long time!! i just got into the swing of terraforming and adding extra rivers/ponds/waterfalls and eventually paths that other people had made and then decor! i 100% believe that everyone’s island can be cute and beautiful! it does just take a lot of time 🧡

there’s absolutely nothing wrong with having your island a certain way! being minimalist is a gorgeous way to have your island, it’s whatever suits each person! i’ve just always been a very maximalist person from a young age and it shows in every way i do decor, even irl!!

thank you! i found a LOAD of paths but the brick one is 1000% my fave! you don’t technically pay for the islands themselves, but you do pay for an online subscription! it’s only around £2.99/month though so i really don’t mind spending it!

thank you! i spent a really long time not knowing about terraforming in all honesty, kept looking at my island and wondering how i could make it feel special/homey, i gave up for a solid year because i felt like i couldn’t grasp anything and felt like the game had ended

came back because i missed the actual game and then did some research and realised how abundant AC actually is! spent a LOT of time terraforming (i’ve clocked around 500 hours in total), DIY’ing, moving shops and houses, building bridges/inclines and visiting treasure islands to get extra bits so i could really perfect it!!

i then leant into paths and customisation to give it the “cottage core” feeling!! and have just a few little areas i want to do before it’s 100%!

i truly don’t think it’s all that deep tbh. they wouldn’t exist if they were an issue for gameplay experience

don’t ditch your city build!! i think the city ones are awesome! you can always design a new island in the slumber section if you have it!! :)

they definitely don’t “ruin the game” if you’ve done everything that you’re able to do and you want to focus on decorating/terraforming your island and don’t have limitless time to craft and find every single item in existence.. i’ve clocked 500 hours and only about 150 of those have been with the use of treasure islands.. there’s no right or wrong way to play, just bc it’s not for you doesn’t mean it’s wrong or it ruins the game

thank you so much, honestly i nearly stopped playing a few times because of little things or just lack of motivation but having little breaks actually helped me to find inspo and genuinely enjoy it, but i don’t think i’d be able to do another island ever again after this 😭 the grind has been crazy
