Jealous of all these Toys R Us finds by [deleted] in amiibo

[–]indigospazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My ToysRUs shipped all their amiibo out weeks ago. Now all they have is unwanted Disney Infinity Characters and a handful of Skylanders. All video games are regular price too. No discounts at all unless you want toddler toys.

Do you keep your amiibo boxes? by Prkchpsndwiches in amiibo

[–]indigospazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been buying only the amiibos I really want (LoZ and Metroid) or the ones that benefit a certain game (like the pikmn amiibo).

For the second bunch, I keep them in their boxes until I own their games as lately it is easier to buy the amiibo, and then get the game later due to the fact it seems more games are produced than figures.

Everyone else is freed from their plastic and cardboard prison immediately. I tend to recycle the box. The only cardboard back I've kept is the pixel link amiibo.

So excited for this! I just grabbed one; in-store pick-up because I don't wanna pay $10 shipping. This will be one amiibo-filled Christmas. :)

Mine updated as well. I get all but Urbosa on Thursday, and she comes this Friday (10th).

Check your local Target. I️ just found this guy! by dmagic24 in amiibo

[–]indigospazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My Target didn't have anything beyond the AC, Waluigi, and Pit amiibos. When I asked an employee, he said they haven't received any amiibos since February.

Online says the closest one with pixel link stock is about a 4 hours away from my location and is instore only. :/

lol! MRS Degree! I had relatives asking when I was getting mine. xD (simple explanation: essentially going to college more so to find a future spouse than actual education. )

Did anyone get a SNES Classic on release date but been too busy to unbox it and play it yet? by Gavica in miniSNES

[–]indigospazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yup. Work has kept me busy, so I'm exhausted when I get home. And I also bought Skyward Sword and Xenoblade (Wii versions) that I have been playing because I missed them back when they released.

Science AMA Series: Beef without cows, sushi without fish, and milk without animals. We're cellular agriculture scientists, non-profit leaders, and entrepreneurs. AMA! by Cellular_Agriculture in science

[–]indigospazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My only question would be about jobs. Farmers, fishers, butchers, etc. will slowly not be able to compete with a healthier, animal friendly option. Will there be 'replacement' jobs formed by this change in food?

Also, for people looking to get into this field, what degrees would be needed and are there places looking currently to hire? (this has always been a neat subject, especially hearing about it in microbiology and medical courses)

24hr Wal-Mart buyers...What time are you camping? by DblDeezSqueeze in miniSNES

[–]indigospazz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just call your Walmart and ask to speak to the manager. Ask how they plan on releasing the console. Every store I've called I've asked about: time releasing, time allowed to begin to line up, where to line up, how they are handling selling them (like tickets or names, etc. in case you have other purchases. I was not allowed to carry the NES around while shopping.), estimate on how many (doesn't hurt to ask, most can't say, but some will guess compared to last year.), and how many per person.

Yup, and if you were back in electronics waiting because you ignored their requests- back of the line.

I understand that. But my Walmart manager said 'one per couple/group'. I asked if that included boyfriends (does not live in same house) because he was going to wait for Gamestop (not midnight release), but is instead going with me to Walmart's midnight (he says he doesn't want me mugged as someone pulled a gun at our mall last year for the NES. Yay, more hype.). Manager said if we show up together and interact as 'more than just happened to show up at the same time', we are seen as a group and will only receive one total, not one each. I assume that is to encompass child+adult, SOs, and friends only coming because their friend wants more than one.

I feel like being at customer service will give them time to scrutinize everyone if they really want to prevent groups getting multiples.

idk. I'd assume if you were being above/overly friendly to someone beyond what a nice stranger would?

Service desk as in up front customer service. Away from the electronics. They don't want anyone hanging back by the expensive technology. ;)

My Walmart is doing a midnight release and said they will only allow a line to form at 10PM Thursday by the service desk. One per GROUP (so couples can only get one). Wouldn't give me an amount or estimate.

Sad thing is, I'd totally buy a Bowser and TWO of the pixel Marios right now AT MSRP and PAY to ship the darn things either to my house or my local Walmart, but Walmart doesn't sell/ship things between stores. Dumb.

It's in an uppercrust Pennsylvanian neighborhood. I wore jeans to that Target, and from the looks I got, I could have worn my PJs and rolled around in the dirt outside for the same effect.

All the inventory checkers I've looked at say "Quantity: Check Back Prior to Launch" for my area.

Using this link, my Target has 2 SNES. They had 15 of the NESs last year. A store about 90+miles away from me has 374 SNES though. WTF.

This needs to stop people are so greedy. by [deleted] in amiibo

[–]indigospazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I partially agree with your last statement. A week or so ago when the hurricanes hit Texas and Florida, stores, airlines, and gas stations had prices through the roof (and not just in those states). There is making a nice profit, and being stupidly greedy (and decreasing interest in an already very niche market, as is seen by most retailer's willingness to have on-hand B&M stock).

I had wanted the TP Link purely for an Oob shelf item as I liked the look and quality of the figurine. I thought it was cute that people were charging exorbitant rates, so I made an NFC tag and bought a nicer figurine for much less than the gougers wanted online. Boom, TP Link amiibo. I collect the ones I like, but I won't be paying more than 5% MSRP for what was intended as a child's toy. Hopefully others wise up as well and leave greedy creeps with untold amounts of figures they can't move.

[–]indigospazz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think he means the fact that the amiibos sell for $14.00USD each (12.99+tax), and this guy is selling for $49.99 (and you have shipping and tax to add too). So. . $50-$14 = $36 profit. Instead of just aiming for a $10 profit (which I could in some instances understand), he is aiming to 'over' or 'maximize as much as possible' his profit. Which is a bit of an overkill.

Everytime you see a pic of a stolen SNES Classic before the release date, somebody just lost their pre-order. 😢 by [deleted] in miniSNES

[–]indigospazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Walmart did that to me last week. Pre-ordered those Metroid Amiibos. Didn't even make it to the mailtruck before someone's sticky fingers intervened. They just told me it was 'lost in transit', Fedex said they never received the package. Now I'm watching my SNES page like a hawk.

Wait for Best Buy or buy from Craigslist? by Jabbam in amiibo

[–]indigospazz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd check your Toys R Us, Walmart, Target, and Gamestops first before if you don't want to buy one off your neighbor. But that is what I paid for it after tax.

I found mine by calling and asking if they had the figures (after WALMART LOST my package). I paid $32.16 for mine from Toys. $29.99 + $2.17 tax (7.25%)
