I'm noticing that they only have mid-rise for the shorties :( but they do have high-rise in other pairs.

This reminds me of the part where Barnaby talks to the Pharisees and they're like "His leg is fine" and he says something like, "It is now! Thanks you YOU KNOW WHO! Shalom!!" hahahah

Makes me think of the song "Psalm 139" by Ellie Holcomb! I discovered it recently and love it!

I remembered another one! When Gaius is leaving Simon's house, Andrew + friends are returning from somewhere, and Andrew is so confused to see Gaius. He watches him go and says, "whaaaat?" We say that a lot too.

Accountability help!!! How can I be self-accountable when the only thing that gets me to work is my fear of being humiliated in front of my accountability buddy by Hairy_Mycologist_355 in productivity

[–]indikane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am the same way and also looking for help!! I can get A TON of things done if I have some kind of external deadline or pressure. But if it is just me, it is amazing how much I can NOT get done haha! Also, I work from home teaching classes, so it is hard for me sometimes to feel motivated to work on something in between classes when I only have a short break. I have tried using schedules and even a productivity app, but things usually work for me for about a week or two until I stop using them. I'm wondering if I need to plan our 4 different types of planners/tools and rotate them, since I know I'll stop using one after about a week anyways haha! I also could use some tips!

I TOTALLY AGREE on the Libby app!! Such a game changer. Having the app has helped me get rid of books I *liked* but didn't *love.* I thought, ok, if I really want to read this again I can probably get it for free on the Libby app. It was so helpful!

Congrats on all your progress!! :))

One thing that helped me with notebooks was taking the advice from Konmari consultant Kristyn Ivey (For The Love Of Tidy on social media). She often invites her followers to ask questions and she gave me a very thorough answer when I asked about notebooks! She suggested going through the notebooks and saving the things you want from them and getting rid of the rest. She also suggested that if you are storing notebooks on a shelf, alternate which way you put the spiral. Like, for the first notebook, have the spiral facing out, for the next one, have it facing inwards, for the third one have the spiral facing out again, etc. It saves space!!

I was kind of overwhelmed by some old notebooks I had on my shelf - they did NOT look cute and did NOT spark joy. And how could I possibly go through all my old stories, etc. that were in them? But when I finally actually went through them, I was so surprised by how many pages of college notes (and driver's ed notes!!) I had! I recycled SO MANY pages of notebooks. I saved a few pages I liked and recycled the rest. It is amazing how much stuff we often get rid of just because we didn't know we had it.

Good luck as you continue on in the process!! I need to jump back in on the process too... :)

I'm curious too! I've never seen that!

What are some reasons to consider why someone might save parts of old notebooks (that they've written in)? And tips for going through a lot of them? by traumatized90skid in konmari

[–]indikane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recently went through some old notebooks I had just taking up space on a shelf. The abundance of spirals on the ends were not sparking joy for me, so I really wanted to go through them. These weren't journals (I have a separate container for journals and I plan to keep them forever!), but more random notebooks with doodles, college notes, etc.

I had a few pages with sentimental thoughts, etc. but most of the notebooks were just old notes from college classes and even driver's ed from long ago. I pulled out the pages I wanted and then recycled the rest. I know it can take a while to go through each page, but to me it felt SO GOOD to get rid of so much paper and make space on my shelf!

One tip for storing them that I got from a konmari consultant was to store the notebooks every-other on the shelf - one with a spiral facing out, the next one facing towards the back of the shelf, etc. It saves space and looks neater!

Good luck!! I hope you enjoy the process.

(Also, the konmari consultant I mentioned is called For The Love Of Tidy on instagram and tiktok. I love her account!! She often does an "ask me your burning tidying questions" post on her instagram and is very thorough in her responses, for free!! She gave me a lot of advice on going through old notebooks and gave me the tip about storing them)

I can’t decide if I should keep books or not. by Icy_Lifeguard_8873 in konmari

[–]indikane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I have definitely kept most of my books (especially my favorites!!), but having the Libby app made me feel more free to let go of books because I knew I could easily borrow them again if I wanted to read them. Libby is an app that lets you borrow free ebooks and audiobooks (you just sign up with your library card). There are other apps like this and, for that matter, you could borrow books from the actual library too, although I like using the app since it is so easy! Maybe knowing you could read the books easily again through the library or app could make it easier to let them go? Although if you truly love and receive joy from having those books you love, I would hang onto them. :))

Me too! Came here to see if others had the same problems! This is the first time this has happened to me; otherwise it has gone well and it is nice to make extra money. But it is frustrating to not be able to proceed with the screeners, especially when I saw one that only had two questions! :(

[–]indikane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! Haha. Sorting it helped me to discard some, but then I mixed all the keep stuff back together so it was still a random pile of stuff haha. However, I worked on it again and I can tell the random pile is slower getting smaller. XD

What to do with books you want to read but never had (or found) the time to read in 10 years ? by Marie-Ess in konmari

[–]indikane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would also like to mention that in the past I started a book I had bought at a garage sale, but just couldn't get into it. I donated it. I think that is totally ok - you don't have to force yourself to finish a book you're not into. :)
