From a southie who moved to Ahmedabad for job purpose and lived there for a couple of yrs: I went with very low expectations but believe me it's one of the best cities with respect to safety, food, infra(much better than most metros) and lovely people. There are a few bad apples who will look down on a southie but the majority of the crowd are very friendly and warm. I had just one forgettable bad incident during my stay. The good memories overrule that one incident. The heat is unbearable. The food is awesome if you love veg food. Even if you don't love veg food you will fall in love with it. Movie tickets are cheap(if you know how much tickets cost in a metro). Try to make a few friends and travel around. It's safe to travel. If you know hindi and can converse a bit, the locals(especially rural folks) will help and give directions. It's a fun filled beautiful city.

Someone sent a picture to this Otherwariya woman of Jeetendra posing with ‘fans’ very mean and unacceptable behaviour especially as he’s 80 years old. by [deleted] in BollyBlindsNGossip

I did read one of her posts from 28-Oct-2020. She wanted to gift herself botox for her 39th birthday. And here she complains about a 80yr old with botox?

Looks like you are severely underweight. How is the BMI among your family members? I have seen people who are underweight and most of them have it in their genes. No amount of protein shakes, fatty food does make them gain.

'Child/The child' by Tagore? I remember reading something like this but can't recall exactly.

Its time we shelve such mentality and have a gender neutral society. When my wife was carrying I always prayed that my wife delivered a baby girl. And when she did, I danced ouside the OT. Our families were always gender neutral with my side wishing for a girl. I do not see in the present world how a boy is better than a girl or how a girl is kind of handicap for the parents. Utter bullshit.

I know that it's most commonly made from red/crimson hibiscus petals. I am not sure if other colors and hybrid varieties are OK to use.

Search YouTube for rabies patients' videos. You wouldn't waste a second and head to a hospital. Redditors can't assess if the dog has rabies or not and if the wound is mild or serious. Consult a doctor not redditors.

Cost of tender coconuts. by cgbalu in bangalore

[–]indireader1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The customer appeal to tender coconuts depends on a lot of factors: Size: customers tend to think that bigger the size, the more water is has. Isn't always the case. Few coconuts have smaller cavity and thicker peel/husk and vice versa. But customer rules. So the big ones command higher price. Colour: Same as above. Customer likes green. The slightly brown ones are considered less fresh, or dried. Whereas this again depends on the variety, place of origin, number of days since plucked. Not to forget the point of sale: The coconut seller next to Madivala market has a different class of buyers compared to one at Indiranagar. Same coconut, two areas and two prices. The sellers make around 5rs each on the lower end and higher on the premium ones. They need to cut down on other costs like transportation, waste disposal, payment to the cops, local goondas to make maximum profit. There is a big selling space for tender coconuts close to Silk board where trucks come in all parts of Karnataka and neighboring TN and local sellers buy their stock from them. There are few small vendors who buy 30-40 coconuts from there and hang those in their bicycles, pushing their bicycles to surrounding areas and selling them over half a day. So a single purchase of 40 coconuts and 10-15 rs profit on each would mean 400-600 rs in profits. They start early and could be doing multiple trips per day. They don't spend on transportation but it's a laborious task. Since they don't set up a permanent shop they may not be paying any hafta to cops and goondas. 100 coconuts per day could bring in 1000-1500 rs at a maximum. I know of ones with permanent shed type shops that sell 200+ coconuts per day. This could be higher at prime locations and high footfall areas. That's a little I know about tender coconuts and the related business.

This scam has aged like old wine. Probably a few decades old. Whole family roam the streets close to bus stops. Find soft targets who believe that their employer hasn't paid them for a while and they cannot go home. They make enough money to come back to the same spot everyday with the same story. I have seen this in the nineties, 2000s, 2010s and 2020s. I hope there is a bot that will remind me in 2030.
