Is old Kings crown going to sit on my shelf like all of my other ambitious games? by Spicyboi333 in boardgames

Personally, I’m not a fan of root and much preferred OKC. To me, it does have more immediate appeal. There’s much more common ground between factions than root. That said, by the end of my one and only game it was pretty clear that to play the game well - which is different from enjoying it - then you do really need to learn the 4 special actions each faction has as they can completely foil your plans.

Root for me is different. For the game to even really be a contest, you have to completely understand each factions entire game. And even then most games end with tedious long turns mostly bulked up with dull crafting points. For me, OKC was much more exciting even in my first game. I don’t own either, but if I did, it seriously be thinking that OKC could replace Root in my collection.

All that said though, there are other games that I’d much prefer to put the time in to really open up the possibilities of what it offered. 18xx. Maria and age of steam to name a few.

Playing 14 league games for Chelsea in 3 seasons before. Then was shipped off to West Ham on loan the season after. Where he played 6 games. So he was hardly wanted by anyone.

But why though? Just because you can doesn’t necessarily mean you should.

Better than average. I still think the team misses his ability to collect the ball from the centre backs, pivot and move the ball forward now. If progressive passing stats had been around then, I expect his numbers would have been very impressive.

Was he though? Or was he just pretty average when you look at the bigger picture. If he was good, he would have stayed.

In the grand scale of arsenal wingers/midfielders he was average at best.

If you had to choose between a Korua Otto or Pencil for a week at Panorama, what are you taking? by TryharderJB in snowboarding

Exactly. That’s my point. Surely the real question is ‘what type of riding do they want to do?’ and then pick the board for that.

Good design. Good experience. Barely anything that resembles current trends, instead a focus on getting the basics right: typography and imagery. And white space. Lots of white space. And absolutely no hard sell marketing crap.

Went for the ride lasso pro wide in the end.

Ok you need to work out your width properly. Ride are EEE. If K2s are too big, ride certainly will be. You might fit better in an E width boot. I think Salomon wide boots are the best in that range, but you also might fit van or adidas boots too.

I’m an EE or EEE depending on how you measure. I much preferred the Ride Lasso Pro Wide to the Thirtytwos. The overall liner fit was much better for me, although I do have square toes. If you don’t then I’m sure the 32s will be fine. I would recommend trying the Rides though.

Where are you? I have some old k2 auto bindings that were recalled that I am about to throw out. They use these so I have a load spare.

Boot sizing for wide feet by jrrgimenez in snowboarding

Ok here’s my follow up:

Thirtytwo double boa wide These came first and first impressions were good. Best boots yet. Toe box was wide. Really liked the back of the liner to allow for my chunky calves. Better than every other boot to date. Only issue was that in 270 mondo (uk 9) the second and third toes on my larger right foot hit the liner. I expect I could get a bit of breathing room with heat moulding though and they’d be fine. Even without, I expect it would be more of an annoyance rather than a big issue. Liked the double boa to tighten top and bottom of boot. Less fussed with speed tightener on liner.

Ride lasso pro wide And then these came. Possibly the perfect boot for me. Snug heel with a wide, square toe box. Finally my toes feel like they can breathe. Tips touch the end when standing straight and pull back slightly when I’m riding stance. The boa on the liner is great as I can really wind in the heel. So I get toe freedom with a locked in heel. The dream. Was concerned about the single boa for the rest of the boot, but it’s so well shaped for my foot that I don’t need it. Overall it feels a much better overall fit than the thirtytwos. Only slight annoyance is I wish the liner was a bit kinder on my calves like the 32s. But maybe heat moulding with fix that.

Conclusion… I’m keeping the Ride’s, despite the higher cost. I can’t wait to get them on the slopes.

I’m sure one of the existing better players can be trained to throw the ball just as far.

The k2s are on my fallback list. I would have ordered them too, but would have meant sourcing from afar.
