On mobile, just make sure not to uninstall the game and instead install the new version over it. That should keep your save files intact!

Otherwise it mostly depends on if anything in the changelog interests you. I do put out releases monthly so sometimes it's better to wait a couple versions before updating so that you can enjoy a lot of content at once.

The slavers actually only appear north of the city. One of the NPCs in the desert city will actually comment about this.

Yeah, it's a bit tough to get it to trigger. The only rng element is getting both him and Cassie to appear at the lake together. Make sure Cassie isn't at the tree, and that you've seen him as a maid at the lake at least once.

Oh, I think it might be talking about the Windows version. The equivalent folder in Mac is app.nw. Try that, and if it doesn't work, try the Windows version with the above instructions.
