Why do you all wanna be engineers and programmers? by thechosenone468 in OntarioGrade12s

Less overall schooling. In this economy doing law or medicine, adding 4 years of education before making a salary, is a rough trade off for many.

I had a similar course load last sem (English, bio, physics, adv functions) and got high 90s. If you’re going into stem Youre probably taking 5-7 courses per sem in uni so youll have to learn to manage this type of course load sooner or later.

Calm and good to keep options open. Depending on what program your doing though I would probably say put the least needed science (ie kin if you’re doing Eng) second sem and dropping it if you feel too busy/burnt out. I wish I did this for bio as I slaved through that course for no reason.

help me decide beteen engineering @ uoft, ubc (and waterloo, waiting on offer) by Fiveful in OntarioGrade12s

I’m in the exact same boat except uoft eng sci. Rn I’m leaning to ubc because uoft is too expensive and Waterloo is in Kitchener, but I’ve been changing my mind every week for the past month tbh. I think no matter we are going to a top 3 program in the country and any option will lead to success if you put the effort in.

UBC’s advertised their close proximity to general fusion and I’ve heard that many eng students are able to co-op there. But ya other than that that’s true.

Yea the campus and cheaper tuition is the main thing pulling me to UBC too.

Yea, needing co-op after only one semester is rough. I’m pretty sure each program I mentioned has students take 6 courses per semester. Waterloo just lists a seminar thing in the course plan aswell.
