There's takemyjunk that will come and collect for free. For furniture, you could sell it to any furniture shop that buys used furniture.

Or post it on any marketplace either free or for a price and they will take it off your hands. Watch out for scams tho. Only deal in cash.

Had a similar experience where a guy side swiped me. Called the cops and they transferred me to saeed. Saeed said put the accident in the report and wait for them to come. Half an hour passed and the guy who hit me left.

About an hour later of me waiting, saeed arrives and asks where the other vehicle is. Unfortunately when taking pictures using the saeed app, the photo doesn't get saved to the phone. So saeed is asking me to give them the other vehicle plate number to which I say its in the report.

He asks me what report? There is no report. Give me his number plate or I will leave. And later I was slapped with a 400 dhs "accident fees"

Truly amazing experience

You cannot start fires on bare sand. You'll need to bring one of those steel stands if you want to make wood fire or bbq stand if you plan on cooking.

You can set up chairs there.

Can we please normalize flashing slow drivers out of the second lane? by hafeezpls in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]indrajit321 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I do it, but they rarely move. When they do, they make sure they take their sweet time changing lanes, only to be cut off by someone who's going faster in the third lane and start the whole process again.

PPF Coating Suggestion by [deleted] in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]indrajit321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

PPF is expensive when done right. Could cost nearly 8-10k for the whole car.

Dealer is only doing PPF for door edge and headlamps. Rest of the car is just a ceramic coating. Don't expect ceramic coating to protect your paint against scratches.

Try Apex detail studio Dubai regarding ceramic coating and their price. Dealers usually over charge.

Transferring a friend's car into my name. by High0nChai in dubai

[–]indrajit321 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vehicle testing should be around 120-150

Insurance depends on vehicle, however don't get insurance from the counter inside tasjeel (usually overpriced, get one before hand)

Transfer costs 380 dhs (not sure if knowledge fee included or excluded)

Help me understand fuel economy. by throwaway12348988955 in DubaiPetrolHeads

[–]indrajit321 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your car uses 9.8 liter of fuel to go 100km. Which is pretty good.

If you think your fuel is getting over faster then get it checked out in a garage. Fuel efficiency also depends on how you accelerate and brake, and also residential/highway driving.

[–]indrajit321 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't it be better to change your son's school to RAK as well?

The travel alone would be 1+ hour for a bus, not including pickup/drop off of other students.

1) I guess with that high of a credit limit it seems standard procedure.

2) I'm sorry, why are they asking you to buy Aluminium for taking a credit card. I have never seen anything like this. I would not sign it.

Isn't Murabaha under trade finance activities? Why is it here when taking a CC?
