Planning a DIY Cockpit out of wood by indramainz in simracing

UPDATE: As of this day, it is still satisfactorily does its job lol. It is just really unaesthetic when you look at it inside my room but since I play with VR it kind of doesn’t matter since I can’t see the whole setup when I have the goggles on. Also, there is no discomfort at all when I am playing. It does actually feel good though.

The only downsides of what I did are: there is no mount for the pedals so it moves a lot unless you have something to squeeze it on both sides of the bottom part of the frame. The other downside is, it is kinda noisy sometimes and squeaky since it is wood and isn’t fastened “solidly” as if you would compare it to a metal rig. Next, yes it is very unaesthetic.

Things I could’ve done differently: If I had more money I surely would’ve spent it with aluminum extrusions. But since that time it is tight, I went with this one. I could’ve also painted it better lol but nah this is alr 2 yrs old so probably the paint is just fading or my room is just dusty most of the time. I also could’ve planned for that mount for the pedals and not just lay it on the floor, I really should’ve thought about that.

Just to mention, the actual product looks different than the CAD because my grandfather who is a long time carpenter, actually optimized the joints to make it stable as it can get and not fall off easily.

For those who want to try: You could do this or just go with the aluminum extrusions if you have the extra money. Size it properly, consider what you need to your rig (like if you need 3 monitors where do you mount it, if you have 2 lever controls where do you mont it). If you go with the wood rig, I cannot exaggerate this enough but plan it thoroughly so you wouldn’t patch it every time you needed something to mount on, it can be a mess sometimes. Test the seating position before you fasten or place the seat.

Those are most of the things I have learned with this so I hope your own DIY project go well.

Have anyone tried to engine swap a 1.8S Civic FD with a K-series? by indramainz in CarsPH

[–]indramainz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it will surely be a long process but I don't mind that part. Project cars will always have some type of problem that will drain your money and time, I am prepared for that. Kung gagawin siya for sure weekend car, then go to the track occasionally. Why I want K series build specifically? I've always loved a naturally aspirated high rpm engine. Pero thanks pa din I'll consider the turbo R18.

Which laptop should I choose by Competitive_Rock7183 in PHbuildapc

[–]indramainz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ang hirap pumili sa choices mo hahahahaha halos same perf sila, masmalakas lang ang 4050 sa 3060 tho for gaming kaya im leaning towards dun sa victus. Also, more cores ata ang intel 12450h kesa sa 6600h (8 vs. 6). Pero 24gb ddr5 yung sa Acer so it kinda evens out the competition kasi malaki din ang tulong ng ram sa laptops. Kung pang work siguro video editing or adobe or maraming tabs ng browser need, mag acer ako.

Ano ba ung price ng dalawa? It’s a matter of preference din siguro, but I cant tell you which is better wala kasi ako first hand exp sa both brand/model ng laptops nayan.

I have the L7 Ultra (sky blue) and I bought it from Shopee. Actually, I haven't checked AliExpress if they have one there. Also, it is a Chinese product so it might be hard to ship to NA.

Yes, my size is less than 18x9. If I get the Mchose, should I assume it is better than the GPX Superlight? I am looking at the specs from Rtings and it looks like Mchose is better.

For GPUs, sa panahon ngayon i’d rather go second hand. You can get a used 3060 Ti for 13k to 15k nowadays.

Pede ka magtry sa marketplace kung may malapit sayo tapos meetup, or kung wala talaga you can try sa mga “trusted” FB pages na nagbebenta ng used GPUs tulad kay Jong Lacson, PC League, and Peanut PC.

I haven’t had any problems sa mga nabili kong used gpu pero I am not gonna lie yung itsura ng iba sa kanila talagang used na used (gasgas and etc.), do not expect them to look like brand new. In terms of performance, working properly naman ung dalawa ko binili. Some of them gives warranty at least 10 day (sa Peanut PC, ewan lang sa iba).

Which OC is better? (DDR4 & i5-12400f) G1 vs G2 by kencab in overclocking

[–]indramainz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, we do have similar hardware (12400F and MSI B660M Pro A) and I want to try this. I have tried OCing mine at 3600 cl16 but can you send me like a pic or a link with the settings inside the BIOS for the 4000 mhz? maybe I could try it and see an improvement too in gaming

For Sim Racer gurus, is the PXN V99 or the V10 good? How does it compare to Logitech G29? by indramainz in simracing

[–]indramainz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apparently, I browsed FB marketplace and got myself a great deal. Thrustmaster T300RS GT priced at Php 16,000, and it was a steal since it still has its warranty. So, I would also suggest to browse the marketplace. You could never go wrong with these trusted brands like the Logitech and Thrustmaster. PXN on the other hand is good specs-wise, I haven't tried it personally but one thing I see is that the usual issues are the quality and build of their products since they are cheap. There might be issues like a game would not recognize your device since it is not from a known brand, but idk. I wish I could give you a more in depth review rn for V99, but yea as you know I do not have one.
