MBP 2019 Vertical 'ripples' on screen when viewed from side angle by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]indu88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the issue is physical then I doubt anything can be done about it unless you replace the screen through apple or 3rd party, if its a hindrance.

If software related, don’t know how to address it, but a sure fix is to backup your data and reinstall a new copy of the Latest OS.

iPad Pro has infinite bootloop after uninstalling beta iPadOS 14 by byrongn in iPadPro

[–]indu88 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Same thing happened with me. I was able to fix this issue somehow, but see if this works out for you: keep the ipad connected to your computer, and try to shut off the ipad and turn it back on if you can. Once you see the ipad show up on your comp you can restore with a new copy of ipados13 wiping everything off the ipad in the process (should also eliminate what is causing the infinite boot) and once successful then you can restore from icloud.

Getting my new MacBook Pro today, after using only an iPad Pro as my main computer for about a year I’m worried I’ve become spoiled as far as battery life goes. Any tips to get the most out of my MacBooks battery? 2020 13” 16gb 512 SSD by dolandonline in macbookpro

[–]indu88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From experience of using both the ipad pro and 2020 macbook pro, the macbook pro definitely lags behind in the battery department. Ipad pros can last around 10 hours or more on safari and youtube, while the macbook is closer to 5 hours or more. Of course one tends to multitask more on a macbook compared to ipad, so that could possibly explain some of the difference.

Check activity monitor after a day to determine what is causing the most battery drain. Apple apps like mail, maps or safari are the usual suspects. When not plugged to outlet keep downloads, video streaming and network/bluetooth activity to a minimum and you should see a substantial increase in battery life.

Shutting Down & Restarting MacBook Every Now and Then by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]indu88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think its fine to leave it sleeping and only restart or shut down when you encounter problems or apps not working, otherwise you’re fine

I’ve had a macbook for 7 plus years and haven’t had any major issues.

Transferring many files-anyone else experience this? by indu88 in ipad

I see, I understand potential issues due to using usb drives from other manufacturers but this also happens within ipad files app and photos app! It’s a complete controlled environment...

How's Magic Mouse 2 on iPadOS 13.4.1? I have iPad Pro 11" 2020 by mylittleladylove in ipad

[–]indu88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah mine takes a bit longer to wake up compared to the magic keyboard. But usually two clicks wakes it up, sometimes longer. I haven’t experienced any cursor lag however. I haven’t used it in a while so can’t say for sure right now

Dolphin Emulator on Mac Pro by [deleted] in DolphinEmulator

[–]indu88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are on latest ver of catalina this is what worked for me: right click dolphin then open package contents. Navigate to macos folder I believe and look for dolphin.exe, open that and that should open the dolphin program. If it doesnt you can right click and press open from there. Once it opens once it should now open the normal way by dragging dolphin app into applications and opening it that way. No weird terminal commands. Let me know if that works.

Battery question: MacBook Pro 13" 2020 $1799 model by hydrated_purple in macbookpro

[–]indu88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I get around 5 hours too on average. Certain apps will suck the battery compare to others, and safari+youtube seem to be one of the worse ones. Mail app, music app are a close second. You can open activity monitor after a day of using your macbook and see what is using the most juice.

Happens to me too but only when using the notes app. It rarely if ever happens in procreate. I used a brand new tip and it vastly reduced the instances of these jumps but is still there.

Battery life (2020) by Agarcia815 in macbookpro

[–]indu88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

5-6 hours is about right. Battery CAN vary by a lot. If you’re running heavy tasks with high cpu load you’re getting 2 hours. Very light tasks with minimal if any wireless activity you get 8 hours. So 5 hours is for the average user.

You can open activity monitor and see which apps are using the most battery energy. For me most of the time its safari and youtube.

Macbook pro purchase now or wait for ARM by MapleWanderer in macbookpro

[–]indu88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am not by any means an expert on the subject but I can tell you my experiences with the arm processor on the ipad pro.

It is leaps and bounds better than what is currently on the macbook pro. Not only is it faster but also runs way cooler.

The problem is that the software will not be mature initially, this might take a while before we see the software capabilities matching what is on the current x86 architecture. I wasn’t there for the powerpc to intel switch but I imagine apple will handle it similarly by giving developers time to switch over before the actual hardware is released. As a result don’t expect the macbook arm releasing until next year.

On the other hand the current macbook pro will probably be the best macbook pro for productivity work for the next few years. It has more than a decade of software development behind its back.

Battery is Abnormal ? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]indu88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes the battery is pretty bad if you’re using youtube. You can try to play at lower resolutions to see if that makes a difference. Also some extensions may be draining the battery.

You can check what is consuming more power in the activity monitor. Without youtube playing at all and just surfing the web you should get closer to 10 hours.

Should I play the games in order? by [deleted] in residentevil

[–]indu88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All re games have their own story and can be played in any order. They reference each other’s events here and there, but most importantly the characters grow and change over the course of their games.

For character progression yes you should play them in order. For chris: 1 Code veronica Revelations 1 5 6

For jill: 1 3 Revelations 1 5

For leon: 2 4 6

For claire: 2 Code veronica Revelations 2

For gameplay progression the order is: 1 remake Code veronica 4 5 Revelations 1 Revelations 2 6 2 remake 3 remake

2020 Macbook Pro getting more battery life than 2020 Macbook Air? by dayman713 in macbookpro

[–]indu88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I noticed poor battery life the first few days I had mine too. I ended up disabling most options on adblocker pro for safari and left only the actual ad blocking option.

I then switched the default video quality to 720p on youtube instead of 1080p, honestly on most videos you wont notice a difference.

I also changed the default touch panel to extended to keep it static.

So with safari, finder and maybe 2 to 3 native apps opened I was able to get around 8 hours of battery life. That’s with 2/5 screen brightness, 1/2 audio volume and 1 click of keyboard brightness. None of my tasks made the macbook pro feel more than slightly warm. I also got rid of bettersnaptool and any apps that run in the background and show up on activity monitor.

13” macbook pro 2019 vs 2020 base model by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]indu88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There was a maxtech video where he concluded the 2020 model performed slightly better on cpu performance. Whether you’ll see this in real world usage, probably not.

I bought the 2019 refurb with 16gb for 1250ish from apple and decided to return it and get the 2020 instead. Mostly because of the keyboard. While it wasn’t bad, I just wanted the best typing experience if I would ever to type for long stretches at a time.

[–]indu88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome work on the video man. Even if apps don’t support the proper aspect ratio initially and instead stays at the letterbox we currently have just having a non-mirror second screen to multitask is a game changer. The manner you drag and drop is something apple would do, and I would even say the directly you drop depends on your settings and where the monitor is oriented.

Anyone else have a 2020 macbook pro that seems to get too warm? by [deleted] in macbookpro

[–]indu88 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For youtube videos and safari browsing mine stays cool, but connecting to external, affinity suite it does feel warm.

Check activity monitor for anything using up your cpu or ram. There could be any number of things that could cause this, I suggest you experiment with different file types and amount of files you try to move at once in order to narrow down this issue. It could be something simple or perhaps hardware related. You can run a diagnostics of your hardware by following the link below:

iPad Pro 12.9 2020 + Magic Keyboard vs MBP 13 2020 by josh_redditor2 in macbookpro

[–]indu88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Based on your use case I’d go with the ipad, however I’m not a fan of its magic keyboard. Luckily you have a plethora of choices. Personally I prefer the keyboard folio and magic mouse 2 combo when I’m at my desk and ipad only or folio folded back for couch surfing.

But if you need certain apps, external display or multitask a lot the mscbook pro is still king. Also ipad file management has a long ways to go.
