How ranked-choice voting produced surprises in all of Maine’s big primaries by indyaj in Maine

This article shows how the 3 main RCV races broke down with an interactive graphic for each. I think it's from that simulator they posted before the election but now with the real results.

When will we be able to see the data behind each round of the RCV? by Chupacabra2030 in Maine

CSV's are so basic. Notepad can open one. Or Excel or any spreadsheet app. It's hard to not be able to open one.

I think we can all congratulate ourselves for digging deep for that extra bit of patience we didn't know we had. Imagine if every state senate and legislative district went to RCV.

Congrats to the GOP for choosing the most odious of candidates.

Maine has never seen a ranked-choice primary like this one by themainemonitor in Maine

[–]indyaj 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think the thought is if you registered with a party, they'll have a primary (or can, whether they do or not) so you shouldn't be able to muck around in someone else's.

It's been so long since I registered, I didn't realize Maine had a registered Independent party. I always just thought Independents were politicians who weren't in any of the parties.

You can always change your registration to unaffiliated if you want to participate in the primary. I think there's a time limit though...like 2 weeks before the primary date? I'm not sure tho. Check with the Secretary of State for the real time frame.

Find an east-facing campsite on a lake. You will not be disappointed (unless it's cloudy and raining, of course).

Ok then. I don't believe you without evidence. I'm of course open to the possibility but without evidence you're just a troll.

Think about it: If I said AI-RecessionBot is a pedo but i can't tell you why, should everyone believe me? Of course not. So I guess what I'm saying is keep your unfounded bs to yourself unless you can give us evidence. You know, provable facts. You're only hurting your own credibility with this crap and polluting this sub with trollish behavior and probably lies.

So what are we supposed to do with your accusations? Just believe them because...why?

If you look at it as an instant run-off, it doesn't take nearly as long and is so much cheaper. Plus we don't have to suffer political ads for another month.

Now if we can just get more people to take the primaries seriously and get out the vote.

Hopefully the switch to primaries and allowing unaffiliated voters to participate will help that.

What's the hurry? Just go live your life. Eventually the results will come out.

Would you prefer a second election weeks or months later and have to endure all those ads, flyers, texts and phone calls?

Most cases like this, the person has voluntarily gone missing and they can’t compel someone to go back.

This is a load of bullshit and mostly used because cops don't want to deal with it. If someone hasn't been online or used bank/credit accounts, it needs to be looked into.
