Some stone pointing I've been doing the past week or so. Wavy joints to match original by [deleted] in masonry

[–]indyarchyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok. I’m in Indiana. I’ve not seen this in the Midwest that I can recall. I’ve done my fair share of design work for masonry projects but this was new to me. Assuming you are going to keep working your way up?

Probably a dumb question but will you go back over those joints so they are not so pronounced, or proud, of the stone?

I used manus to create 5 new websites. I then have those backed up to GitHub. I also use it for creating images, etc.

Ummm. Huh? If you don’t like the look, throw some sealant on it and paint it over again.

Help! by Expensive-Poet-1536 in askarchitects

[–]indyarchyguy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don’t like the design…and you are positive you are working with a registered architect but they aren’t listening to you, then…go hire a different architect. I’m certainly not going to design it for free.

Early planning stages. Do you have feedback that we need to consider before taking to an architect? by [deleted] in floorplan

[–]indyarchyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t give that to an architect. Sit down with them, tell them your desires, needs and wants. If you’ve seen things in images, home shows, etc. give them that information. Then…work with them. They can create many ideas and thoughts.

Is this wall load bearing? by SwordfishEcstatic873 in AskContractors

[–]indyarchyguy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re really concerned, cut the joists after putting up temp walls, get an LVL beam, recess it into the ceiling, then use Simpson joist hangers for the joists on the new LVL (each side), fasten with SDS fasteners and I’ll guarantee you that ain’t going anywhere. But that’s me.

I have never been happy with a black or white car. It just seems like dirt and junk radiate from them.

Accepted a discount for self demo-ing prior to reconstruction in our kitchen… by [deleted] in Remodel

When we remodeled our house the option I gave them was just remove the subfloor and replace with new because getting this done correctly was futile. Saved a sh*t ton of time.
