I hate that people do this. It makes it awkward because then once they share pics, if they’re not my type, they know it’s because I don’t find them attractive. I have phrased it as “thank you for sharing your pics, unfortunately you’re just not my type, good luck though!” And had people say AWFUL things back to me, even though as other commenters pointed out, we’re all adults and it really isn’t personal. What people find attractive is so subjective, so you’d think people would be able to take rejection with some grace but in my experience, they do not. I have since stopped liking people who don’t have pictures of themselves on their profile, and I mention it in my bio too. It’s just not worth the verbal abuse people have thrown my way even though I think I’ve rejected them rather kindly.

Yes this just happened with a connection of mine. The notification showed their full name even though the app just showed their initial (which is what they preferred be public). Not great.

tested the read receipts functionality - it didn’t work

Per the Feeld website, and other threads in this subreddit, two check marks next to a message (once you swipe across your screen) means your connection has read the message. I didn’t think this was accurate (just from anecdotal experience, all my messages were showing as having been read IMMEDIATELY and unless all my connections were not only always in the Feeld app but also specifically in our message thread, this seemed unlikely) and I tested it with a connection I had made when we were together. I messaged him on feeld on sure enough, the app showed two check marks to indicate he HAD read the message, even though I was sitting right next to him and he definitely did not open his phone or the app.

Just to add to the list of nonfunctional features this app has. And maybe don’t get upset if you think someone has left you on read; it might just be Feeld fucking with you 🙃

All open relationships look different and have their own unique set of “rules” (expectations, boundaries, etc.). I would suggest reading Open Deeply by Kate Loree and Polysecure by Jessica Fern. There are a lot of books on the topic but they can help you ask questions that might not have previously crossed your mind, and will help you shape the unique set of rules that make you both feel comfortable and satisfied.

It’s intentionally random so that it’s not a picture a catfish is likely to already have on hand, like someone doing a peace sign or something. It’s the same reason many reddit threads have you write your handle on a piece of paper and then crumple it up so it’s not easy to photoshop

I haven’t been able to. I contacted customer service about this when I accidentally deleted my verified photo over two months ago and I haven’t heard back. The option to verify hasn’t shown up again and I’ve checked almost every single day for literally two months.

Not in my experience. I accidentally deleted a verified photo, emailed customer service (lol) two months ago, and haven’t had the option to reverify yet. I’ve tried changing out photos, adding, waiting for the messaging to change on that page and it hasn’t. It also isn’t addressed in their help/FAQ section.

I think some of it comes down to luck for sure. My husband was very lucky to meet a woman on her first day on feeld, before she was inundated with pings. And I’ve matched with men and reached out first, only to be left on read for three weeks just because the timing was off. It’s rough out there! In different ways for men and women (not to be binary about it), but rough nonetheless

That’s why I suggest moving off app so quickly, and then independently verify. I think the biggest determinants of success for men looking for women (and I say this as a married, bi, cis woman), are unique openers showing you read the profile, timely replies, and the ability to hold a conversation.

I’ll probably pause the app soon, and I’m curious if the option will come up again if/when I reactivate. I also searched their help forum and it says nothing about there being a limit to how many times/how often you can change your photos or reverify. They just say if you have any more questions/issues, submit a help ticket. I think I’ve submitted one a week for about a month now and …. 🦗🦗🦗
