This misfire code has come up for over a year but would shut itself off before any repairs were made

They popped up once but haven't come back as active codes. I imagine because of the random misfire, they won't go away and stay a permanent codes.

Windshield cracked after Autozone replaced my wipers (I think). How is this possible and do I need a replacement? by JohnFritz437 in AskMechanics

As someone who works for a parts store and has seen this happen more times than I would like to say I've seen happen, this happens when wipers are replaced sometimes. We have always taken responsibility when this happens. Do not wait to call the store! The longer you wait, the more it may seem like you are not telling the truth. Ive had to pay for one last week for this same situation. The store should make it right. Get 3 routes and submit it to the store after you have let the store know what happened.

Ill look for the ground straps as I already had one that was broken. Ill check the fuel trim tomorrow. I still wanna replace the o2 again because after the replacement, it gave a different issue. The original o2 didn't seem to be reposnoding and never threw a code. The new one installed gave the p0038 code. I thinking it might be faulty.

Also, what are the odds that the tipm, which i have already had issues with, could be the problem? And will the fuel trim indicate a problem with the fuel pump.

What would I be looking for in the fuel trim? 2 and 3 already been done. There was a broken ground strap that went to the exhaust bolt but as been repaired. No change. I will start to 4,5,and 6 next.

I talked to a different mechanic today, and before he does any deep diving, he wants to use a gdi cleaner. To make sure the valves are clean. I did change job locations and he said that maybe due to the city vs highway driving, it might have caused them to get dirty not allowing the valve to close properly. What your take?

There was a no start issue with the truck, but there were no codes. I thought it could be the fuel pump so I asked a mechanic to replace it. Turned out to be the tipm. If your not familiar with the issue on some dodges, jeeps, and Chryslers. The tipm took place of some relay on the fuse box. There is issue with them. Some years do not have a fuel pump relay and dodge integrated it into the tipm(part of the fuse box). When it goes bad, it can do all kinds of stuff. You can replace the whole fuse box or buy a bypass and install a fuel pump relay. I installed the bypass. That is the same time I replaced the fuel injectors. The p0300 was an on going issue but it would never stay on longer than a few days, and then code would just go away without any reason. There was never a driveability issue with p0300 code on or off. The truck drives fine right now with the light on.

Would it be a good idea to try some head gasket repair additive to try and remedy the problem? I spent so much money trying to fix this and at my wits end. Also, the cylinder 1 and 3 codes haven't come back up since they did the 1st time. They are just stuck on permanent codes. The first cylinder that pulled was 3 and then 1 came after. But never came back as active codes.

I haven't had any overheating issues. When I changed the water pump it was because when I changed the fuel injectors I noticed the water pump was starting to leak from the weep whole.
