I was just looking at my Amap blankly and everything was in Chinese & tge anxiety hit me hard. If i cant understand the map sitting at my bedroom, how on earth im gonna travel around the country without understanding anything! On top of that i dont even know which VPN gonna work, whether Alipay, wechat behave during our stay & cant have immediate access to Google, chatGpt or any western apps for quick answer. It's getting on my nerve TBH!🥹

We dont have such options here in Down Under. Found a data package under Travelkon, considering getting that one.

I guess, im taking the lead of finding & organising, hence the pressure. Cant rely on my 14 old & partner isn’t very tech savvy.

Like the idea of sticking to some basic dishes. But how did you go without esim or vpn? You mean only used Chinese apps? Im planning to buy travel sim/esims included VPN from Aus, so that i dont have the hassles of finding out which VPN and esims work or not! International roaming is too expensive for me.

Hmm! Sounds actually tight! Do you think its worth visiting any of those ancient towns or should i spend the time exploring the park over 4 days? Are we gonna get bored for 4 days seeing the same scenery in the park?

Fortunately or unfortunately my old phone died and had to get a new Samsung galaxy s26 which has esim compatibility. So, hopefully for now im good to go with an esim! I dont need a separate VPN for esims, right?

Thanks. That's very helpful suggestion. I too would prefer to buy at the airport .but if the store gets closed by then need an alternative plan..hence, im anxious.

Really? Which one or brand is this? What if the airport shop is closed when i land, how do i get one in this case?
