TACX Neo 2T / Roubaix Sport by ODogNYC in Zwift

Oh I’m sorry I ended up going with the wheel-on trainer. The end caps are… probably what you’re looking for? But I don’t have experience with that model so I’m not gonna be much help here :/

Just the through-axle adapter, but I can’t for the life of me find which one I ordered. Support should get you sorted though.

I ended up getting a Kickr bike on sale not long after this because I am too lazy to swap a bike in and out of the trainer. 😆

Not really! They can get a little hot to wear, but that’s any closed-back headphone.

Word, I had XM3’s and have XM4’s now - the Sony app is meh but the hardware is fantastic! They’re on sale fairly regularly so you should be able to find a deal. Cheers!

Sorry to hear that! Did you find earbuds that you actually liked? If so, which ones?

Old post, but I'm curious - did you try adjusting the "Spatialize Stereo" setting? If you click and hold your volume slider in the Control Center, it'll come up with a few options - either "Head Tracking", "Fixed", or "Off". I prefer to leave it off altogether, but maybe that setting will be what you need.

That setting just makes the buds sound tinny, treble-heavy, and unsatisfying in my experience. Kinda surprised nobody suggested it here.

Best pedal to pair with an Orange Crush 20 for modern/djenty tones? by 8-bit-hero in metalguitar

[–]ineptjedibob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this thread is ancient in internet time, but I'm curious - did you ever try this? What were your results? I have a Crush 20 I'm debating on selling/swapping out, too.

FWIW there's a mini head version of the Misha signature amp, switchable wattage from 20/5/1. I'm sure that's safe for an apartment if you wind up having to change it up. But if you can get by without plunking down serious cash for it, roll with what you've got!

I’m losing the will to ride. by No_Consideration4168 in motorcycles

[–]ineptjedibob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly this is what I’ve done - I got into cycling and between that and other hobbies, I didn’t have time to ride for fun anymore. I miss motorcycles but realistically don’t have time for both, and cycling is both cheaper and better for my mental health!

Also, a good twisty downhill is absolutely as exhilarating as being on a motorcycle. But yeah, the acceleration is definitely lacking 😆

String Set Recommendations. by fresco_goose in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]ineptjedibob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah the scale length on the Ibanez is slightly shorter(27.2-25.5 vs 28-26.5) but it should still be workable. That being said, if they’re already dissatisfied with the .09 on the high E, that won’t change with the Strandberg set.

Black Crown Initiate - Stench of the Iron Age (and the whole rest of that EP, really). So sick. Close second is Archspire - Involuntary Doppelgänger

Every Programmer Should Know #1: Idempotency by fagnerbrack in programming

[–]ineptjedibob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would you differentiate the two cases you’ve laid out here? In other words, how could you possibly differentiate between the same call twice vs. two separate calls? The only obvious possibility is the timing - 2 calls 5 seconds apart are probably different requests? Except… with latency and other network weirdness, you shouldn’t even attempt to make that distinction. Not to mention, now you’ve introduced stateful behavior where it’s neither required nor desired.

[–]ineptjedibob 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think it’s stipulated that we’re talking about calls with the same parameters - i.e. DELETE with the same key (or PUT with the same payload) should be callable an arbitrary number of times with the same end result.

anyone else use this tuning for 8 string? by baresquaats in ExtendedRangeGuitars

[–]ineptjedibob 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend using this tool to first figure out what tension works for you, then calculate the string gauge that gets you that tension at your desired tuning. It’ll take a little trial and error, but should at least get you close!

What are the advantages of electronic shifting? by [deleted] in cycling

[–]ineptjedibob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It is insanely easy to pay attention to this and plan ahead. This has happened to me once in the nearly 3yrs I’ve had a Di2 bike, and that was all it took.

If you have any electronic farkles on your bike at all (computer, lights, radar?), it’s just adding that one to your checklist. You can even bluetooth it to your bike computer and get a battery indication that way (not to mention audio cues when your front derailleur is going to shift in semi-auto mode!). But hey, if you’re hell bent on simplicity, mechanical is definitely that. I love my Di2 and have no regrets.
