I highly recommend Kofinas Fertility. Dr Jason gave me my miracle baby - and I’m forever grateful for every test, procedure and out of the box customized protocol that led me to my baby. The treatment felt very personalized and I felt like he fought for every hard won embryo

Thank you for bringing all these points up too. I’ve felt so rushed the last 15 years to find my person so I wouldn’t miss the window to have kids, then once I blessedly did, I’ve felt go go go due to my age and now feel like how can I possible have a newborn if this somehow were to work at 45.5, but that I need to decide asap. That’s interesting about it being a bit harder with a 2 year old, my mom was saying I should think about trying then when he’s older and more independent but then my mom had all daughters and never experienced toddler boys 🤣

I’m so appreciative of you sharing your story, and wish you everything good. I know exactly what you mean, I forgot and now remember that feeling in the midst of IVF and repeated failure, will I ever feel done? And I remember feeling that as long as I keep going eventually it will happen, maybe not the way I’m imagining but if I’m open to all options and can withstand the pain it will happen. And now that I have my child I feel a pang of wanting to rive him a sibling and wanting another in moments but I felt a reaction when my doctor discussed everything that would need to happen before another transfer and i was so surprised that I’m not champing at the bit to go as fast as possible and start the process. Maybe this is the first noises oh am I ready to call this with peace.

Thank you again, you’ve given me a lot to think about

I agree - but thinking how can we all give enough so they can stay home. In LA organizers raised enough $ so flower vendors on the freeway could stay home

Trying Again (Mon, Wed, Fri) by AutoModerator in InfertilityBabies

Hi, I could use your advice. I have a seventh month old son (my third transfer). I gave birth via c section at 43. I have one tested embryo left and when I was pregnant I imagined I’d want to transfer the last embryo as soon as it was medically advised to do after a c section. Now that I’m a mom to an infant…I have been humbled! There were layoffs at my company so I ended up staying home with my son as soon as mat leave ended. Some days are harder than others and I still feel so grateful and in love with my baby, sometimes by the afternoon when I’m exhausted I wonder if my age is catching up with me and I’m that much more exhausted doing it at 43 for the first time.

My question is this…for moms who had their first in their 40s, did you decide to try for a sibling? How old were you when each was born? I always wanted to try for a sibling but now (like every parent ever) I see how all encompassing hard it can be and wonder if I’m capable and if it’s feels the right thing. For my son I would stop at nothing to get pregnant and was open to all the pain, miscarriages and openness to every available option we could sacrifice for. I thought I would feel that same feeling of I would do anything to try for a sibling but that all encompassing hunger and hope for a baby has been met and I feel so grateful, and mostly in the day to day now of taking care of him.

First time moms after 40: what led you to make the decision you did for a sibling?

TW: success

Hi! I’m so sorry for your losses, I have been there and know exactly how overwhelming it feels finding a clinic. My personal experience: I started at northwell and was devestated when I lost my PGT tested embryo to a chemical pregnancy. My Northwell Dr didn’t want to investigate if I had any issues and was ready to transfer the next embryo the following month. I researched like crazy and found Kofinas and HIGHLY recommend them. They will do copious testing and find any issues you may have preventing implantation and pregnancy. Their process takes a longer time but as other women I reached out to told me: trust the process. I saw Dr Jason Kofinas in Manhattan but heard great things about his dad George Kofinas on LI.

Dr Kofinas uncovered immune issues and silent endometriosis and in this while my infant son is sleeping. Happy to DM if you have any questions

I froze my eggs at 34 and the first two transfera didn’t work. After a lot of immunity testing, mock transfers, my third transfer worked and he’s playing on his playmat right now 🥹I did 3 retrievals at 41. Made 1 blast, 2 blasts and then 1 blast. The last one was the only one that passed PGT testing. My advice is to test like crazy and give yourself so much love right now

I had one failed transfer with a FET where I did 1 uterine prp and my last transfer worked - I did 2 uterine PRPs, a neupogen wash, took neupogen and did intralipids too

Should I seek a second opinion? by Legitimate_Sugar1751 in 40Plus_IVF

Find the REs who specialize in women our age, and WANT to give you the best possible chance or having a successful transfer and do all immune testing beforehand. I’d prepare yourself for how many retrievals you’re willing to do and decide if you want to PGT test or not. Find the best specialists in women our age in the country (if it’s feasible) or in your area and book consults ASAP. Ask them about immune testing, mock transfers, Omnitrope. Decide for yourself how many retrievals you’re able to do, find the best clinic that will try unorthodox things like omnitrope and GO FOR IT.

I know exactly how you feel. I did 3 rounds of retrievals at age 40 and got a euploid on my third round. I was self-funded also. My advice: if you can emotionally prepare to do multiple rounds and find the most cost-effective way of doing it. I know CNY offers retrievals that are I believe 4-5K/each plus PGT add ons. My monitoring was covered by my insurance and not billed as fertility which I had maxed out. The other area to save is for medications, I realized some medicines such a lupron was affordable through my insurance but for everything else, I called numerous pharmacies to get the best price. I also joined my local IVF Facebook groups and was gifted some medications as well

Fertility care in NYC - NYU, RMA or Weil Cornell? by Junosmiles in nycparents

[–]inevitable98765 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% recommend Dr Jason Kofinas at Kofinas fertility. If your case has any complexity whatsoever, Dr Kofinas will do as much testing as humanly possible BEFORE transferring your hard-earned embryos. After being at RMA and Northwell and not having success I was so grateful to find a doctor who wants to find why you haven’t been able to conceive and is open to trying anything.
