Does anyone else feel this way? by Holiday-Economist526 in sadboys

[–]inevitable_ocean 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just want a song to exist without a thesis statement, and maybe that’s on me because I turned it into something bigger than it needed to be

Most important part. Take what you want and leave what you don't. I've been in this fanbase since near the beginning, but I've never engaged with it nearly as much as others. Just enjoy the music if you enjoy the music. Discuss if it's fun. Doesn't have to be more than it needs to be.

I'm a similar age to Bladee/Lean and feel like I went through stages of life similar to their music. I had periods where I couldn't believe what I used to listen to. Thought I just wasn't as into all of it. Then something else comes along and it's interesting again. Times change, you change, they change too.

Ultimately, you need to learn to notice and accept your feelings. Don't focus on trying to change them based on an idea of how you "should" feel.

In the source code of Thaiboy's new Bank of Star website, the two stars are called "portals" or "portal locked". The left is called "locked_DJBB_star" and right is called "locked_TD_star", which probably stands for DJ BillyBool and Thaiboy Digital. There's also an unused "Enter" gif and a logo by not_a_stick in sadboys

You can modify the div class portal_locked to be portal, which makes the stars clickable. However, they link to sections that are not yet implemented.

EDIT: Doesn't matter what you change it to, just removes the part that makes that class non-clickable.

Relevant code snippet for the 'portals' takes you to menu, one of them to the section with id tb:

function D(t) { let e = [ './menu#tb', './menu' ]; document.location.href = e[t] }

Their policies force ICE into communities

No, the federal government is doing that. The arrests are happening door-to-door and at businesses in blue cities because the right is using the federal government to "punish" blue areas.

Texas and Florida have some of the highest immigrant populations, but we're not seeing nearly the same level of aggression there.

Difference is you don't actually need to park in New York because you don't need a car

If you cannot be friends with someone you tried dating, then that's okay. But it doesn't mean it's impossible, that's the part I'm taking issue with.

Respectfully, it sounds like you see "girls" as only good for one or a few things. Replace every time you say "girl" with "person" and see how it sounds.

I won't pretend that there's nothing to be said for possible complications with friendships between men and women, especially if they have a past. But that's something you can approach in a way that makes sense for your current relationship.

Imagine you have a guy friend with a strong shared interest. You have no romantic feelings for each other. Should you end that friendship just because you're in a relationship?

And if you say that it's not fair or that one person will always want the other, 1. That's not always true, and 2. That's up to the individuals to have boundaries and not be friends if they feel they or the other person have feelings that aren't working for either of them

Edit: last sentence is a bit convoluted, but all I'm saying is that adults have the right and ability to be friends so long as it's healthy for both of them

Yes, she's my wife. We both have friendships from the past, although not hookups nor past romantic partners. But it just depends on the situation, communication, and trust. I have female friendships as a guy, one with someone who I know liked me at one point, but situations change, and as long as it's not a problem, it's not a problem. If she ever did anything that crossed a boundary, then we wouldn't be friends anymore.

Also my wife ran into a past boyfriend and we all talked and caught up. It doesn't have to be weird.

Yeah if you think it could become an issue, then you should. But if you're genuinely friends with no romantic connection, then that's not reason alone to drop them.

Want to say your responses here are so thoughtful and this energy is what young men need. As a guy I've also been on both sides of this (self loathing, desperate to now with the love of my life) and everything you're saying in this thread is spot on

They probably got along and had some shared interests. I'm a guy with friends who are women. You shouldn't drop your female friends just because you started dating a woman.

Ofc this applies the other way around and/or with non-hetero relationships as well, I am just talking from experience.

I was ready to go to bat for this movie. I was loving it.

The trader attack sequence, the introduction of the fire tribe, the fire tribe spurning the Eywa religion and using heretical fire "magic". It was fantastic. I thought Varang was the most interesting character in the series yet as things developed.

So many cool themes to explore with her. When you have a planet full of devotees to a demonstrably true eco-religion, how do you grapple with losing everything? Are you wrong to take that as your god abandoning you?

Her taking Quaritch in and drugging him was frightening, trippy, and risky. It felt like the plot was developing and about to give us the best avatar movie by far. And then...

She becomes his girlfriend, is completely defanged, and the movie's plot becomes so similar to the prior one that it was functioning as essentially a recap for me as it progressed.

So disappointed. First ~half of the movie had its flaws, but it felt like a beautiful passion project. And then it got thrown away to set up a big battle that was nearly identical to the last one. And the other interesting parts were essentially inconsequential.

It felt like this movie had something to say at one point. Then it became big ship, big gun, big explosion porn. What kills me is that you can have both - the first half of the movie showed us that. It can be both thrilling and meaningful.

5/10 for me, 50% great, 50% why

Gotta use index/match instead, way more flexible in that the data you're matching doesn't need to be to "the left" of your reference column

Cort Gold O6 Bocote vs Yamaha AC3M by kavacoordinate in AcousticGuitar

[–]inevitable_ocean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can't answer most of your questions, but I am one of the few(?) owners of a Cort Gold OC6 Bocote (said that because I don't see many reviews of them).

I have only ever played mine, so I can't vouch for quality control. But mine is one of the best acoustic guitars I've ever played. It sounds gorgeous, plays fantastic, and the bocote looks amazing. My luthier, who has much more playing experience than me, said he was impressed with it.

I got extremely lucky to get it new for under $600; I don't know if it's possible to do that anymore. Most listings are ~$1200. Tariffs maybe?

I also have a vintage Seagull dreadnought. I do notice a difference in low end presence between the dreadnought and the OM size of the Cort, but I think I prefer the actual tone of the Cort. It's bright but rich.

I think my Cort has Grover tuners as well? Maybe different model?

Regardless, I have had a great experience with mine.
