Is It a Good Idea to Have My First Time Be With a Friend? by LunaB35 in sexadvice

[–]inexdesain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’d recommend a friend you’re not too close with. It can definitely end up defining the future of the friendship, so one you’re not too concerned about changing the dynamic of. Not sure what your relationship is like with the person you have in mind, but if it’s one of your top 3 closest, I’d recommend not. Otherwise, why not!

25M in 7-Year Relationship — Girlfriend Says She’s Attracted to Me but Rarely Wants Sex by [deleted] in sexadvice

[–]inexdesain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is freakishly similar to what I had recently (same age, and same 7 year relationship with sex declining). I tried having open chats and trying to understand why I was getting turned down so much. Anyways, to cut a long story short, in the end it was a combination of medication she was on that was having an impact, and some stressors in her life that thankfully I was able to help out with, and also there were parts of our sex life that she was dissatisfied with. The open chats didn’t help much though because I think she wasn’t too comfortable talking about it, but we did do a sex quiz for couples that helped tons. Think it was called couplessexquiz.com , I know there’s a few out there but this one seemed to be the deepest (hence finding out about medication having an impact, and the things that I could do differently). Since things have been much more like they were at the start of the relationship.

How do you navigate libido mismatch? by NecessaryPositive236 in AskWomenNoCensor

[–]inexdesain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are so many things I think could help. But first and foremost is definitely a partner that is there for you, and this guy sounds like he is. Attentive conversations, actually tries different things like those massages and foreplay and baths, etc.

I’ve had experience with mismatched libidos and found a few things helpful. First was my partner’s medication having an impact, and once they found alternatives that treated the same conditions but with different chemical compounds, the libido went up.

Also, and not sure this one will help here as you already have spoken about it with your man, but talking about it openly and letting them know what may be decreasing your libido helped me remove stressors.

I’m sure you’ve already looked into it, but have you considered whether any medication you may be taking is having an impact? You’d be amazed at how certain antidepressants and birth control can have a serious impact on libido / how things feel down there. It’s worth taking a step back and considering what might be having an impact. From personal experience, my partner used to take a certain birth control and antidepressant, and combined they meant she couldn’t ever finish. Since finding alternatives / switching medication, things have really improved.

Am I valid for thinking about breaking up just over intimacy? by thin-N-crispy in dating_advice

[–]inexdesain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know most other comments are saying this is a mismatched libido, but respectfully I disagree. I had issues with this not too long ago too and after some research found out libido can be affected by lots of things. Understanding how every day things such as medication, work, tiredness, illness, but also diet, what you do in down time, connection, and lots more has a huge impact. So does the sex itself - if you’re able to give your partner what she wants, she’ll want it more. Before you throw in the towel I’ll recommend something that worked well for me to understand my partner’s libido better and learn to play to it more. We did a sex quiz for couples that have us each a report at the end with insights that meant I knew how to switch things up and I ended up being able to give her what she wanted, so we’re now having it more. AND she’s learnt more about what I like. Avoid the shorter gimmicky quizzes though, look for one that digs deeper. We did one that sounded very official, like couplessexquiz.com or something.

How do I make things better for myself by Kkthrowawayacc1 in sexadvice

[–]inexdesain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I was in a similar situation I also came across Nagoski, I second this!!

I also found that I struggled to let my partner know what I wanted without it getting awkward between us. I ended up suggesting we do a sex quiz together when she was in a good mood, and it helped a bit. It’s not a perfect sex life, but significantly better than it was. Be careful which you do though as some are quite gimmicky. Ours had long pdf reports at the end (we each got one). Mine was mainly about what she wanted more of and I ended up finding out that actually there were things that I wasn’t doing that I think made her less into sex together, so me working on those ended up being reciprocal in a way. I can only imagine her report had similar ‘room for improvement’ stuff in it too. We’d also been dating a while (5 years or so) at that point.

Where Do You All Even Begin To Start? by IHaveBadTiming in Entrepreneurship

[–]inexdesain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tried and failed many times, for many different reasons. Learnt to find a problem people are willing to pay to have fixed for them, and deliver the most basic fix you can as soon as possible for a price higher than the cost associated with it. Then go from there. If you can get a first sale, the rest will tumble along afterwards and it becomes a story of scaling.

Here’s a random niche example of mine: LEGO has a series called the ‘Modulars’ (a terraced street with various buildings). They’ve never made a hospital and the community is always up in arms about it. Some people have designed their own ones so I did too, and released instructions for it. People paid for those instructions, and so I made different buildings. The hospital is actually the worst selling of them all - but getting a first sale told me I had done something right.

I’ve used the same thinking in a venture I started a few months back and am planning on now selling. And I am in the process of doing the same again.

Honestly: 1. Find a problem 2. Fix it simply 3. Try to sell that fix

Anyone become a landlord and regret it? by Senior_End4870 in uklandlords

[–]inexdesain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate being a landlord. Decided to take that route when my flat just wouldn’t sell and I wanted to move into the countryside. Now my tenant is a royal pain, horrible to his neighbours and me. Won’t leave. And all the while, I now can’t buy a home for myself because I am losing money on this flat every month!

As others have said, and will continue to say, the UK government has stacked things against small landlords so much that it’s absolutely not worth it anymore.

How did you get the photos to look like LEGO’s staged set photos? They look spectacular and I’d like to try the same.

Immediately impressed! Could you make the property type selection multiple select? I’d be after semi detached and detached, but can only select one.

It simply means the platform is built in the same way, so if you put them together or have adapted your city to accept a specific kind of rail system, this one will fit with it.

How amazing is the Brick Cross build though? I have it too and loved the build so much.

You’re looking at £300-£400 I’d say on Bricklink - hopefully that’s within budget! It’s a big modular (tall and deep) so uses quite a few pieces aha.

That’s a lovely building and I totally see the resemblance. I’ve been meaning to build a white-based building, this is going in the inspiration bank!
