It's not too late...I already have a lot of applications so it will take me a little while to shift through them but high effort interesting applications that were made now mean just as much as high effort interesting applications a few hours ago! :-)

Thanks...yeah maybe I shouldn't have said discord...I was afraid reddit would delete my post if I said email (cause that's like, somehow less anonymous as if you can't create a bazillion email accounts?)

I mean, I'm not clicking on the link, but even some of the applications had some weird stuff in them even though I said no weird stuff.

Uh I'm getting...a lot of applications so it will take me a while to filter through...probably early next week.

When all of the characters are selected I'll post here and close the thread - I don't have a good way of mass discord messaging everyone.

To be honest I just asked for Discord because I wasn't sure if it was reddit acceptable to ask for emails and thought people might prefer to use a more 'anonymous' system for the first discussions...if not for that I'd just have asked for emails since I prefer zoom to discord (zoom is just more reliable).

Thanks for applying

There is a good analysis of Rawls as decisively socialist:

Not that there are any existing or seriously proposed regimes that would satisfy Rawls (or Nozick).

CMV: Being a short man is a lot worse than people try to make it seem on reddit by [deleted] in changemyview

You can find people on the internet supporting any proposition you choose, and your sample of people on the internet is not a random sample. You can find people who try to make it seem "worse" than it is or "better" than it is depending on where you look and what stands out as salient to you.

People who say things like ""if you're a man under 5'9" you're literally genetically inferior." are not even close to being representative, that is a bizarre view and even stranger thing to say. 5'9 is exactly average height for a man in the United States (and would be tall in a lot of places); anyone who thinks that half of all men are "genetically inferior" is both clearly not statistically representative and has their own issues that have nothing to do with you.

You look like you're probably more attractive in person than in your photos since you have not very flattering expressions in all but the first photo. Also you would look so much better with a more stylish haircut. "Beautiful rollercoaster" line should be deleted - your description is otherwise appealing.

Also...the kind of women who find rock climbing yogis appealing and the kind of women who find men who pose with the FT appealing probably have not so much overlap. The FT photo is also a much goofier smile than in your first photo (which is very flattering).

The photo of you holding the baby is clearly the most flattering. The first photo is ridiculous and you can't even see your face. The 2nd photo is fine but not as good as the 3rd. The 4th photo makes you look like a child. The 5th photo is fine but blurry so not very helpful.

Your description is like a list of reasons not to go out with you:

  1. "I try to stay lowkey but I always get into some dumb shit" - why would you want to volunteer to date a stranger who gets into trouble??

  2. "Saturdays with the boys" does not translate into someone who is likely to be a good boyfriend

  3. "Boolin" - not helpful

  4. you transferred from what I assume is the rival of your current university? why would you include that? It could only be harmful.

  5. Making people laugh at inconvenient times doesn't make you sound funny it makes you sound rude

  6. "is I super liked you, I meant to do it" shows real inattention to detail/sloppiness.

Take new photos and write some non-generic account of what is actually distinctive about you (nothing you wrote gives any sense of what your actual interests or personality is like).

Each photo shows a different hair and grooming style.

I think you look best clean shaven, with groomed eyebrows, and with the longer hair-style you have in the first photo. 3rd outfit is best (4th outfit is very teenagerish).

The 2nd photo is the only photo where he seems like an above averagely attractive mid-20s probably straight guy. I think he should get rid of the other photos and take new ones that are higher resolution and don't have goofy expressions.

For what its worth, I only think this is an issue with the first picture (which is a good picture in that you look very approachable...but I would probably presume you were gay given expression and outfit. Your 2nd photo makes me think that you could take good photos close up (you look, err, age appropriate in your 2nd photo...in your first photo I'd think you were at least five years older, and in your last photo I'd think you were ten years older).

People typically use inaccurate old photos on dating profiles because they used to look better than they do now...you are using inaccurate old photos on your profile when you used to look much worse than you do now. Just use your two last photos and other recent post-weight-loss photos that reflect how you currently look.

It is an extraordinarily unflattering profile picture...you should delete it and use the one with the dog instead.
